Lahore has become one of the biggest cities in the world with fewer roads and more vehicles plying there. Good news is that provincial government is considering to build and operate a monorail transport network in Lahore — the first of its kind in Pakistan.

Monorail project, planned in Lahore?s city centre, is scheduled to be launched this year under the BOT (build, operate and transfer) concept. The word is that a Malaysian firm is likely to be awarded a contract to build and operate a monorail transport network estimated at the cost of about US$ 500 million.
