    the meaning of independance becomes clear when you go to a college that was present pre partition like king edward and see the rolls of honor where you cannot spot a single muslim. not because they weren’t hard working or intelligent, but because they weren’t good enough in that society.

    it becomes clearer when you share a bench with the farmers son from jhang who may not share my accent but shares(and sometimes excels) my intellect. i wonder what he wouldve done pre partition, worked on a 1 acre field?

    we owe my education and our self respect(YES!! despite our shortcomings we have oodles) to independance!
