6 September, 1965 – Some rare photographs

Some of the rare black & white and color photographs from 1965 war that I found here. I even found one BRB Nehr (Canal) wali picture and having seen BRB many times, I still can’t believe how Rangers were able to hold that massive Indian attack for more than 9 hours, which eventually saved the city of Lahore from falling.

This war demonstrated 17 days of courage, strength and sacrifise by people of Pakistan. The victory achieved by Ordinary People, Junior Officers and Soldiers – The Jawans, who gave their blood, was turned into a defeat by Generals, Politicians and Bureaucrats.

My Salute to all the soldiers and ordinary people of Pakistan who gave their lives in 1965 so that we could live in peace.

Being a lahori, I can still remember the childhood stories of 65 war my father used to tell me. The passion and enthusiasm in his eyes and voice is something which still drives me crazy.
    *salute to our jawans*
