As the Earth moved…

According to the latest reports on GEO, two buildings collapsed in our dear Lahore. Both are the New Alam Market in Shah Almi and the Rangers Headquarters near the Allama Iqbal International Airport. No casualities have been reported till now, however, there have been injuries though.

Richter scale measured it at 7.6, and, it truly is the strongest earthquake ever to jolt Lahore, Islamabad and at least 14 major Pakistani cities including Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Faisalabad, Multan, Quetta, Bahawalpur and Sialkot etc. 25 people have been reported to be dead in Azad Kashmir alongwith 50 injured.

It’s also reported that south-west wing of 12-storey Margala Tower in F-10 Markaz, Islamabad, came down with the quake. The scenes as it is being shown on GEO are horrific with all those vehicles crashed under the debris.
Deaths are not confirmed yet but it surely is serious.

God save us all!

Our thoughts are with you – it sounds very bad. Please take care of yourselves.

We’re not getting much news on this side except for the stuff on CNN … NY Times has scant coverage as does the LA Times and much of it doesn’t agree on the size and scope. I’ll keep checking back here for the latest.
