A friend’s father is a government servant and en route to Muzaffarabad yesterday saw countless bodies scattered on the roadside; there is no place to buy food from anywhere because it’s all gone- shops, warehouses, factories. I cannot stress this enough: goods, not money. People need medicines, food and warm clothes and shrouds to bury their dead in, not money. Roads will not be open for trucks at least for a week; we have enough time to assemble a sizeable amount of things to send through whichever channel one chooses.
