child adopting …

I recently got the following email in my inbox through my university email list

PIMS hospital has inside its premise a Children’s Hospital where injured children from Kashmir are being flown in. Soon all rooms and space inside the hospital will be used up. Friends of Children Hospital have requested for your help.

What is required from YOU?

Anyone who has room and space in his/her home may volunteer to take in a child for a temporary period till s/he is able to go back to his home or till his family contacts you.

We need a volunteer, who can send out the mail to as many as possible, develop a roaster with names of confirmations who can take up a child and soon. As a first step please start circulating this mail to many as possible.

These children are the future of their land. They need your help.

the following was my reply

Check your facts before circulating such emails

Dr Tabish Hazir from PIMS child ward said on PTV day before yesterday that currently they do NOT want people to adopt children unless and untill certain measures have been taken.

There are international laws against child abuse , PIMS guys have to do a lot of work before actually letting people adopt kids

at this moment, we least need a mass circulation of a hoax

take care

the following is another email mesage forwarded to me by Madnas on the same topic

I want to bring everyone’s immidiate attention to the most grave issue of the hour… children from the disaster hit areas are going MISSING. Due to the chaos and its to keep a track of the children whose families are either missing or dead. Trafficars are taking full advantage of this situation. If any single one of the devastated kids would get in to wrong hands at this hour, we shall all be responsible for it.

Things to do and know:

Adoption is being BANNED by the goverment for the time being so any one who is doing so is doing it ILLEGALLY
No individuals can OFFER children brought in from those areas up for adoption
No one can re-locate the children from their areas without official permission from the goverment
The goverment is giving the names of ORGANISATIONS in media who have been asked to supervise and take care of the children for the time being…so if you dont know CHECK with any tv channel, newspaper etc
If you are recieving any messages from individuals saying that they have kids up for adoption, please inform the authorities
Please spread some instruction around for the ones who are volunteering help in the affected areas. Tell them to keep a count and track of children who are unaccompanied. Also tell them to educate children not to leave their area with any one but the officials.

For now we do not even know how many of these children are actually orphan or their families are missing. So everyone Hold On for a while…take care of these kids first.

Please spread this msg around

I thank you all for reading, this is an important message,

do NOT ignore it

have a blessed Ramadan

My sister, a journalist from Lahore was in Abbotabad yesterday. She was approached by a few volunteers who begged her to alert all NGOs and the Govt that young girls are being kidnapped from balakot and other earthquake hit areas. The need is that NGOs and aid groups working in the area should alert the parents and girls not to accompany unknown persons alone who lure them with promises. The children and especially girls need to be warned. My sister is alerting the media. Meanwhile if anyone in the area reads this, pl start this awareness campaign as soon as possible.

I was just wondering if when there is a better idea of how many children are actually orphaned, what procedures are going to be in place for adoption? What is the cost? We would really help to a child(ren) by giving them a home filled with lots of love. We have a homestudy completed by a licensed Social Worker, as well as completed finger print and police checks.

    Please get back to me.

    Thank you,

im abbas from very confused with the child adoption policy.i want to suggest that those people who are blessed by ALLAH ALMIGHTY with money, properties in rawalpindi and islamabad as they are closer to pims should be allowed to adopt the children.they should give thier contact numbers, property proofs and whatever assurity to governament, police stations etc,so they are closely checked by the authorities and whenever the relatives of the children are found they should be reffered to that man who has adopted the this way it will be alot easier to give the children a homelike atmosphere than a boring and rather cruel type given in hospitals.i know i cannot express my point fully due to my poor english but humanity lovers like you should get my point.governament should make a committee of some people to supervise all the child adoption cases quite regularly, its not impossible.if one can get a loan of millions showing their property etc,why shouldn,t it is possible.the other thing someone home is better than some ngo or trust.kindly look to my advice and deliver it the governament after purifing it
reason for mentioning about property and money is because i think a wellof man by the grace of ALLAH will not be involved in child abuses type of things

I’m totally amazed to see such an overwhelming response from the people looking forward anxiously to adopt a child once it is opened by the Government. Though this is not a place to ask questions related to child-adoption but Lahore METBLOG has become such a loud voice in this cyberworld that people are actually seeking the valid information. The MANAGER should publish the latest information as it hits, so that people could get as much benefit as possible through this blog.

May Allah bless them with their wishes and may all their dresams come true. Ameen. :)

We are a modest Swiss family with a warm spare room who would be happy to offer airfare to Switzerland and provide food and shelter to a single mother and her child (survivor of the quake) for the winter months. Does anyone know of any agencies which relay host family offers abroad to needy women and children survivors who may be interested?

I have a nice home and everything i need except i don’t have a child to love of my own. I don’t want to use every dime i have to adopt, i would like to use that money on the child….who is thinking of a child when they ask for so much money to adobt.
