Not Enough Tents…

…in the whole world, according to a sub-caption in today’s The Nation. 200,000 tents are urgently required, says the President, and tent exports have been banned to direct output to the Northern areas. How can there not be enough tents in the world? Because of the irony that Pakistan is the world’s foremost exporter of winterised tents, and we’ve run out.

It’s time to be creative: companies are donating the canvasses of their billboards to construct makeshift shelters of, sheets of plastic like greenhouse material- anything waterproof, and big enough. This post on the Karachi Metblog’s got a great suggestion too- tepees! If anyone can facilitate the shipping process, contact Aisha ASAP. Hopefully it isn’t too late.

asal mein it’s a race against time..the issue here is to produce huge number of tents in such a short span of time … and sadly..i know many ppl who are doing more-and-more-prfitable-business even at this time .. which is also creating shortage
