Whatever you have written for Salaman is true and anyone can see the magnitude of research you have done. BUT, during the recent quake telethons and at relief camps, where you will find all who-iswho of showbiz, Mr. Salman was absent alongwith his already breakaway band collegues.

    I wonder why ?

Oh!!! yes!! nobody promised any money for their appearance.

Next time please mention what they have done for country and society other than promoting and dumping sofi music.

Oh please, if he is one of Lahore’s greatest exports, I feel really sorry for the city!
I mean, the guy is just horribly pompous and annoying. The music? If you want to call it that, is mediocre at best.

… and the recent feel that he has developed to ‘sing’ his own songs. duhh?! Sorry to say: He sounds pathetic. He is surely a perfect guitarist. I (ahemz) Truly//Madly//Deeply adore the way he plays. But please, he shouldn’t sing! :S

I still remember how he strummed guitar on his very first album with Vital Signs (VS-1) back in 1987. Not just him, all four were perfect. Junaid, Rohail, Shahzad, Salman. Or should I say 5. Does anyone remember ‘Nusrat Hussain’? He was the first one who left Vital Signs, the person who actually started Junoon (a Pilot’s dream) and called in Ali Azmat (ex-Jupiters), Salman Ahmed (ex-VS) to join in as a team and form the ever famous Junoon.

Just for records: Junoon’s song Khuwaab was sung by Nusrat Hussain. He then made a solo album too. He never marketed it. So he’s a hidden legend which quite a few number of people know about.

Coming back to Salman Ahmed. He really is one of the Greatest exports of Lahore City. I totally agree. The way he first played ‘do pal ka ye jeewan hai’ with Vital Signs. Then with Junoon, it was a never-ending story. He is still perfect (as a guitarist).
