of mocks and sendups
Another one of those little things…all my life, i’ve called em mock exams – the ones you take in school right before you take your A levels or O levels. But in Lahore, people call them ‘send ups’. Heh, didn’t even realise what they were the first time I heard that phrase. But it’s more appropriate I guess.
I guess there is a reason for calling them send ups. The schools and colleges threatend the students that if they dont pass these exams , they will not allow them to sit in the real exam (like SSc or HSSC) as a regular student of that school or college( a tactic to filter out weak students and producing a good result). So if you passed those exams they would send up your admission forms for the real exam , otherwise not. hence the name send ups
yeah in school they always told u beta send ups kay grades matter kartay hain becoz uss kay abad u have no time to improve
they couldn’t have been more wrong
