A bus going to a wedding near Ghaziabad in Northen Cantt caught fire and killed about 40 people inside. ( details here ). The cause apearently was the load of firecrackers inside the bus which got blown up. I happened to be near the northern cantt area that time and I could hear ambulances in the aftermath, but the initial explosion was not that big to catch attention. Since its the end of year and the wedding season is in, we are conditioned to hearing ( and ignoring ) fireworks which continue even after 2 o’ clock at night. I hope they ban fireworks on weddings (like they did with food) ; 40 seconds of fun is not worth even a single injury.
