WOW!

I just head Aamir Alvi (who sings with Munchkins in Karachi if I’m not wrong, but I’ve also had the pleasure of hearing him rock on at the university we both went/go to) and Arooj Aftab (apni wunderkinder) singing ‘Comfortably Numb’ on the radio, and my brains began leaking out of my ears it was so good!!!!! They sounded better than Pink Floyd (thank you critical readers;) ), and we all know that that is saying much….my god, we’re so talented here in Pakistan it boggles my brain. Please harass your local FM to play it for you, it’s SO worth it…now I shall run off and see if I can get an online clip of it to share the wealth! But WOW! Chaa gaye into infinity..

    Arooj Aftab is amazing

Yep, you had me puzzled too with the Nirvana comparison.
I agree with Talha, that is not a song that should be covered.
But do share the clip if you can find it.

I’m afraid we can’t take you seriously as a music critic if you can’t tell the difference between Nirvana and Pink Floyd :)

Hence proved: a slip of a keyboard can convert Pink Floyd into Nirvana. O:) LOL

Hallelujah by AA, is just amazing!

I’m still waiting for you link!

Btw, if I’m not hijacking the discussion, did you listen to Long Gone Day (Mad Season) sung by Ali Hamza of Noori? I like even more than the original!

Off the record, did you change the nirvana to pink floyd in the post? No, I’m not telling anybody else here! :D

I can’t believe your comparing Arooj Aftab with the band who played the song at every concert of theirs after 1980… The song was played 30 times alone on the The Wall shows. And then at every show on the Momentary Lapse tour and Division Bell tour. To get a taste at how well David Gilmour played the guitar solo, listen to Comfortably Numb from PULSE.

I didn’t even count the solo tours yet. *shakes head in disbelief*
