The internet’s a call away

I’ve always found the WOL internet hours by phone service extremely convenient when I can’t run out to get a scratch card and i absolutely have to get online. You call 090010222, and follow the instructions to get either 1 or 2 internet hours. They deduct the payment from your ptcl phone bill. It’s a little on the expensive side – I think an hour costs about 20 rupees or so, but the convenience factor more than balances that out. Tis great for holidays when the shops are closed and you can’t get scratch cards anyway. :)

see you soon

So, I’m officially off to Isloo to spend Eid with family and friends, and writing these lines from home. It’s great to be back after a while and will be posting few things here at Islamabad metblog. See you guys after Eid and hope you enjoy the reading the stuff with the rest of the metrobloggers. Well, it’s less than 24 hours now so Eid Mubarak in advance!

It’s wedding season anyway!

One of our dears Momekh has recently been married. Well, we did greet him off the scene but nobody announced that here. And now, it seems Umar‘s turn in Karachi. The best part is, he’s engaged to another blogger Unaiza Nasim. Greet the couple here.

Ah, lucky fellas!

missing the fog

The fog came, but never stayed. I’ve been missing it like anything….These pictures are of a random morning a week or so ago when the fog got really thick. Misty mornings are the absolute best. :D This is the lums parking lot…and there’re rows upon rows of cars parked here, and i couldn’t see beyond that foxy when i parked right behind it..

gunsmoke’s tv screens

I hadn’t been to Gunsmoke in a while…and when we ended up there last night, I got a really great surprise: they now have small tv screens inside the walls next to each table! Much like tv screens at the back of plane seats! They had a bonjovi concert playing when we went, and we could see the entire concert sitting at our table. I loved it! It’s such a novel idea, atleast for me, and it’s the perfect conversation piece! Moreover, FINALLY a restaurant’s realised that it’s nice to see on tv what’s blaring through the speakers…had quite enough of watching football matches in restaurant silently while some weird popmusic proceeded to completely destroy both visual and aural concentration…

A word for Metroblogging Tokyo

The Metroblogging Tokyo folks are looking for comments on what topics people are interested in reading about at their site. If you have a minute, you might want to head over to their site and post a comment.

As most of their readers are from outside of Japan, they are wanting the kind of feedback helpful in future topics for postings.

Graffiti on mm alam

kitty%20032.jpg
About a month ago, we saw this cool wall right opposite zouk. It’s got really interesting graffiti on it, but my friend and i decided that its probably an ad of some sort, because it seems too random to just *be* there…what do you guys think?

sun’s out!

Only that I didn’t get time to write about this during the last two days but I really enjoyed the sun after so many days of cloudy weather. Sun rays seem to be transmitting energy in the winter, woof! As my cable net walla uses a satellite connection, I feel grounded when the weather is smoky or cloudy. Well, the rain did clear smoke but the clouds were hovering all over the place.

On a personal note, I hail myself for being a careful person about sardi (there’s no backup man for me, dude!) but was on the other side of spectrum on the first day after rain when the temperature dropped below zero; I left my woollen topi when I went out on my bike. Can’t be more foolish. Before I returned, few things were in place! So the next time you go out, especially after dusk, take proper care of yourself. It’s certainly more than two layers thick now!
