Happy or Sad?

So what does rushing out on the streets, painting your face, making a lot of noise, hanging out of your car window, passing through the red light and burning/wasting a lots of fuel tells about people of Lahore? Are they happy or sad?

From one perspective, they are the happiest people on earth! Its their independance day and they are making a point as well as enjoying themselves. From another perspective, they are just sad people desperately looking for reasons to have some good time.

I don’t know about you, but all those ‘celebrations’ seemed unnatural, unnecessary and forced. Most of us are living an uncultured life. Our education, way of life and ambitions don’t come from an organic evolution: they are forced. Are we really happy people?

Interesting point you have there. I think there’s a considerable amount of truth in it. We seem so disorganized and uneven on a collective level.

I wonder if all those nations who appear to be better happened to pass through this phase too.

Thanks for comments IceCube. I really don’t think that other developed countries passed through a phase of unnatural growth. They never had a ‘copied’ education system, never celebrated like any other nation, they endorse their own music etc. These things are not big factors in their own but tell that evolution is taking place and people are okay with it.
In Pakistan, we don’t have evolution. We have copying. Instead of evolving and improving the old madrassa system, we established a parallel education system which is unnatural. You can see similar examples in all other sectors.
Unfortunately there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.
