I going to give you the benefit of the doubt and sincerely hope that you were being sarcastic and are not a “jiyala”. ;-)

Of course Bhutto, Zia, BB, and NS have their own “jiyalaas” too! However, the real problem with “jiyalaism” is loss of objectivity. It perpetuates the dangerous idea that any one person is more important than the system. I hope you see the light (difference)!

But I digress.

I am just glad at least one statue survives, and wish more of our history was preserved, because IMO Islam had earlier proven to be wise enough to differentiate between repressive idolatory and cultural/historical artifacts.

A great tragedy is that the present day Mullahs, using their limited intelligence and limited knowledge are marketing their dangerous cult under the brand of “pure Islam”. When in fact this cult is really a repressive force against everything good (culture, history, free thought) for the nation.

Musharraf is the best thing that has ever happened to Pakistan after Jinnah. Pray to Allah that he continues to guide us towards a civilized & developed nation. Do a retrospective analysis of economy, education, women & human rights and then decide yourself. Dont u see the growth of arts and culture. He is a kind leader, If I was at his place I’d deport all who disagree with the moderate and enlightened society to Afghanistan where they can be happy under Taliban.

BTW, what exactly are you tired of re Musharraf, just out of interest? One thinks Musharraf may have gained some favours with women for passing women bill but apparently its not so.
