Sikh traffic warden becomes celebrity!

On Sunday, when I was enjoying my weekend with my friends in Alhamra, my friend told me an interesting story about a Police Sub-Inspector who is a Sikh and has become a celebrity since the start of his duty.

My friend told me that he met him and heard him claiming that Lahorites are really warm prople. They say Salam and Sat Sari Kaal and even some of them hug him..

He said, “I’ve been posted here to lessen the traffic but the traffic gets jammed just because of me!”

I was amused to hear the story but having no interest; soon forgot it.
But while surfing the net I came across a news story in DailyTimes which was the same, that my friend told me. So I thought that it must also be on LMB.

Here is the full Story on DailyTimes. (courtesy).

I was just wondering, shouldn’t this post come under a category called ‘Minority Report’

And yes, more and more Sikhs are coming into the mainstream these days. You can see many local ones in the malls, on the busses and now, on the traffic signals… ;)

@hasan, here speaks the captain :-p

Par waqayi, why’s he attending a call instead of managing the traffic??

**On second thoughts, in this lone pic I can see three police-walas and absolutely no Traffic, is it really Lahore ;-)
