Pakistan Railway: On the move to E-era

Sheikh Rashid is a jolly person and he has (tried to) made quite few changes to old & gold Pakistan Railways. There have been two new addition lately :

- Lahore Headquarters has been equipped with Credit Card facility for reservation section.

This would be helpful for all people *like me* who prefer to use Plastic Money more to safeguard against many threats or mugging.

- E-Ticketing is going to be started on 20th of this Month.

Initially it would be available to trains between Lahore/Karachi/Rawalpindi, but would be expanded from time to time. Well i am not a fan of traveling to ISB or KHI via train but most of commuters who like to travel via Train would feel happy about it – they won’t have to line up in queues and have to face weird attitudes of ladies on the reservation desks.

Beware – same rules apply for cancellation like applied on Air ticket reservations, don’t forget to bring your CNIC/NIC or Passport for verification and try to cancel your ticket 72HRS before if you need a full refund.

We should give some Kudos to Sheikh Rasheed for bringing innovation in Pak Rail. At least he deserves some part of it…
