I don’t get the logic behind this message? Is it some sort of Deeni Message? Or is there any cultural history behind?

It’s about being cultured & civilized I guess. You would find such warnings and limitations at places mostly frequented by families…

I don’t care about logic-shmogic… I don’t want to see someone’s hairy legs while I’m eating.

Icecube its only u who doesn’t care logic -shomigc, we all seem to be ajoba, most of the things that we do are unexplainable phenomena by psychology, sociology. I wish this board would have read “NO spitting in food street” or ” No eve- teasing in food street “.pretty simple that’s what I think ethics are ,not banning a hang out place of lose dress in 49 C.
Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 22nd, 2007 @ 3:16 pm
@SMalik: At least this “no spitting board” should be placed all over Pakistan :D . No eve- teasing is again not a bad idea. But all this is to do a lot with education, realization and brought up.
This board; Buzurgo ke bat kabhi kabhi maan leni chahye, zarori nahi her chez issi waqt samajh aye :)

And by practicing this, you will show respect and obedience to the elder. Tolerance ..tolerance..
We need to learn going out of our comfort zones.

Stop talking from the pulpit and stop stiffling the fantasies.
Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 23rd, 2007 @ 7:23 pm
the question is… what happens if u do arrive there wearing a nikar? would there be guards stopping u from coming in? or bouncers ready to throw u out? will u be fined? will the waiters refuse to serve u? will they take your photographs and hang them with this board?… i mean, this board is not giving any specifics… need more info.
Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 4:04 am
Solid. Why dont u give it a try..i mean :) zara pakki info mil jaye ge phir :p
will do… just keep some marham patti ka saman ready :)
actually i can almost forecast what would happen… first a very badmash looking old man will come over and tell me politely “aap to parhay likhay hain… yeh board aap nai nahin parha hai?”… and i will have to instantly refute his assumption that i am anywhere near a parha likha… this usually leads to instant hatha pai involving all the bystanders and some of the waiters from phajjay kay payee…. rest is a bit too complicated to describe… bas zara marham patti ka samaan…..:)
Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 4:34 am
hmmm…maybe marham patti ka saman will not be needed, as i m sure they are curteous enough, who knows malish kay baad sewa hojayee….info main izafa bhi, so u will be killing two birds with one arrow :D. Best wishes for your adeventure.

Then Maybe when you will say “O pai jan, hunn meno samajh lag gae ae”, …kia pata free main Gwalamandi Food Street ka zabardast food bhi mil jaye. :) ayaasshiiii hee ayaaashiiiiiii.
its accoustic and unplugged… from one of the famous rock bands (from the time a bit before they actually became famous)… the song they never released (and maybe should have)
It was not an album song. They were two songs, originally sung by Noori’s brother in a small Jam Session at LUMS back in 2001. One was rather an 18+ version. But this one got a bit mashoor (A BIT). Anyways, God bless Noori’s soul.

Ye neeker and Noori ka kia laina daina?
both neekar and noori have something to do with gawalmandi… and lums :)
i thought u gonna write, both start with letter N :)

since when Knickers begin with N?
… since foodstreet management have banned them! :)
also its with “N” in the board shown above ;)
So, what were we discussing here; Noori’s Siri Payay in neekars, or NeekarWalas @ Gawalamandi??
Supposedly, Neeker walas having Nihari and listening to Noori’s song gawalmandi …Nerray Nerray :)
