@Aijaz: One thing that I do know of is that they link your account with a particular Cell phone number of yours, so even if you have someone sniffing in on your transactions and acquiring your PIN he/she/neutral wouldn't be able to do anything until he/she/neutral steals your phone.

In that case dont forget to call up ur service provider and get your number blocked.

@author
I think t would still require an insider comment. SSL has nothing to do in this transaction as per my knowledge. I dont know how secure is an SMS but more important is PIN transfer from phone to the server which MUST be secure. The second question might be how powerful is IVR system running at UBL side to respond to many concurrent calls, or the customers have to wait like they wait in their calls to service centers.
Their website doesnt care about telling these things either or at least I couldnt find such info over there.

@Aijaz:
As far as the security of the system is concerned. I am sure techlogix would have used latest SSL certificates for windows mobiles. I'm not sure what would it be in case of Symbian. But it will be surely a system which is secure and upto the standards that banking system needs. Could it be AES that is available for SSL channel encryption in 128 and 256 bit cipher. I am not sure. But I believe it is secure enough for me not to worry about that bit!

Furthermore, Your Orion account is specially designed for safe and secure mobile transactions. Every payment is authorized by a security PIN that only you know. You will receive confirmation calls only from an Orion number so that you can authenticate the source of the call and distinguish it from unknown callers. This means that in any circumstances only you can make payments from your mobile phone. What's more is that you can be sure that your transactions will be processed instantly.

wow...fit Idea... chalay ga ... dorray ga..
Guyz @ amaana (pvt) limited have been developing similar kind of product (www.amaana.com) but without any collaboration (with a bank or an exchange company)... but this one from UBL-Techlogix seems a cool idea.

Market positioning kamal ki hai.
Best of Luck.

WOW! This is a great advancement. But you have to be extremely careful with your mobile phone as many things can happen.
1: You have to delete every sms related to the transaction every time.
2: You have to keep mobile safe from children in general and specially thieves. There is more chance of mobile snatching if you are making paymets at a shop using this technique.
3: You have to keep an eye on your balance and track the record of your every transaction.
4: There is a chance of Fake sms or Mobile Fraud as well.

Some other question also arise...But I hope in the end everything can be managed in a better and efficient way by using this "Mobile Wallet".

In the end I would suggest that anyone would be interested in using it after it has gain much popularity and acceptance. Which is the job of sales and marketing department of UBL. However, the idea looks very much Worthy to me.

Can you find someone from inside techlogix or UBL to comment on actual technology? What it is and how it secures the transaction etc. This type of service is only recommendable if the tech-backing is strong.
