Emergency Tonight!

There are reports about our Government of Pakistan imposing emergency in the country tonight. Media is claiming confirmation through reliable sources in Islamabad.

Possible triggers behind declaration of emergency:

1. US Threats against sovereignty of Pakistan
2. Attacks on Chinese citizens in the country
3. National Assembly’s movement to bring exiled leaders back

Another reason can be the speculation about a petition being filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan tomorrow to allow Sharif brothers’ return.

We’ll keep you updated on this just as events happen.

God bless our country!

    The News:

Some reliable sources confirmed that the decision regarding declaration of emergency was taken in the meeting.

However, the government sources have DENIED the reports about the declaration of emergency in the country.

Lets see what actually comes out!

Another reason can be the speculation about a petition being filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan to allow Sharif brothers’ return.

it cant be… i mean if the emergency IS actually imposed it has to be passed by the supreme court instantly and the supreme court can deny it.

Mushaarrafs basically buying time. He knows hes gone.. and now hes freaking desperate.

This can be a result of over active Supreme court. We have to realize that a single judge in a night can not change his faith and lead the country to the congregation of law abiding nations. It needs a political change and struggle. If everybody wants to corner Musharraf, we should be ready for some fighting in the streets. Are we ready for that? I beleive what BB was doing , was in the best interest of the country. And she realy won my heart by risking her popularity for what she thought was right for the country.

Also a lot of things need to be done politically, rather than allying a judge on your side making the govt feel impossible to run the business. The clear cut answer to the current situation was free and fair election. Not judicial activism. The final judgment for political decisions lies with the people of Pakistan.

The cause, I heard is that US threatened to invade the country? Is that a rumor??

  12. David Markland (unregistered) on August 9th, 2007 @ 6:33 am

The U.S. didn’t threaten to invade.
A candidate for president, Barack Obama, said that he wouldn’t rule out attacking the Taliban or other “terrorist elements” inside Pakistan along the Afghan border…
We’re a little obsessed here in the U.S. about catching or killing Osama bin Laden.

    Hay David, thanks.
Yes, we can see that on media that US is obsessed about Osama etc. But, here our media and ppl are a bit curious about why this emergency is going to be imposed at the first place because there is no apparent reason for that i.e. no emergency situation. Everyone is concerned just because we have very volatile political situation here right now due to upcoming elections. Lets see what comes up.
