This is almost a regular sight on peak hours at almost all major arteries of Lahore. Expect even worsening jams around iftaar timings these days with ambulances, like the one pictured here, stuck for hours and hours.

Ohho, this photograph is a “misleading JPG”!! You can actually see the road at places!! You should try riding home from work with me one of these days Hasan!! That’ll show you the REAL bottlenecks of the century!!

You turn right, and see a long line of cars. A long sigh suddenly escapes your lips, and you brace yourself for some “sabar” time.

As you’re waiting, and moving, maybe an inch every 45 seconds, you see a car crossing you from the right… then you see another car… and another… your hand begins to twitch, you start second guessing yourself: “all these cars are going… why can’t i go too? what’s the harm? if they can find a place, so can i!”…

Traffic jams are a norm, inevitable if you may… but what makes it worse is people not waiting in line!

It’s hard, waiting in line, and people get to call you “fool”, “nincompoop”, “stupid ;)” but at least you know you weren’t a part of worsening that traffic jam!
