in 60yrs History of Pakistan these elements have made consistance efforts to defame some good gentle political faces like Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah etc. in past and at present … These quarters intentionally bring forward corrupt figures as Politicians so that democracy could not strengthn e.g PML(Q)/Chaudhry’s/MQM gangs etc.

All the effect they want is to demoralise the nation and loose their faith on Political Leaders.

They cunningly target Geneuon Political Leadership on the name of those fabricated Corrupt political figures.

The recent election Drama is another example …

I largely agree with what you are saying. Granted politicians are not the most admirable of class in many societies.

However, in Pakistan, the extreme negative connotations associated with the domain of politics in general and politicians in particular are significantly amplified and opportunistically exaggerated by certain elements who operate from the shadows. This has been achieved over many decades as part of concerted efforts of these quarters. Psy-ops tools and means have been used, e.g. material planted in newspapers, electronic media). Libelous material regarding politicians has been proactively published whereas that against other classes (e.g. delusional saviors galloping on horseback) has been systematically suppressed.

In the end it is as you say, a shame – a sad shame.

Politicians and political parties are supposed to act as aggregators vis-a-vis the interests of quarters they represent. They are supposed to provide an organized means for the masses to channel their demands to the governing power structures which can then address them appropriately. This is how Qaid-e-Azam and All India Muslim League were able to pursue the goals of the Pakistan movement.

By the nullifying of the efficacy and moral standing of this useful class/segment of society, it is our common people and masses who have suffered most at the end of the day.

The sad part is that politics in general are now associated with backstabbing and not keeping your word! This is a worldwide phenomenon and you will hardly hear someone praising someone by calling him or her a politician. E.g. ‘you have acted like a true politician!’ … the synonym that goes is usually ‘diplomat’, a softer version of ‘politician’.

It is a shame, and even if people like you and me would want to join politics to serve the higher purpose of public service and nothing else, you would have to live with the ‘tag’ that as you are a politician, you are ‘expected’ to con your way to success, you are expected to ‘put up a face’ now to kick dirt in their eyes later. It is truly sad. I think.

Some -.-. spokesperson’s always casting jokes on Politicians (Infact motivating civilian’s mind for accepting Army as Superiors,Honest Characters and all politicians a corrupt)

Thank God, Qauid-e-Azam and Therik-e-Pakistan was political movement which created Pakistan -Vs-
Army Rule always brutal which destroyed west Pakistan.

Later.. Among Benazir/Nawaz we have good people also like Imran, Aitezaz, Jameel Ali, Dr. Qadeer, Iftikhar Chaudhry etc. Why these propogators so worried and feard of these un-armed people of Pakistan

Anybody claiming himself political leader of this nation is not Pakistani’s leader..whatever they try..atleast not limited vision uniform guy.

I believe several Lahore-based politicians can be placed in the above upstanding and (relatively) clean category.

It sometimes seems that character assassination of politicians has been comprehensively ingrained in our psyche systematically by those who would stand to lose most (i.e. a host of entities which form the status quo “establishment”) if and when a truly representative and strong working parliament came into existence. It has become almost fashionable to poo poo politicians in drawing rooms and general chit chat.

It is the aim of a democratic system to allow a mechanism for a comprehensively better crop of leaders to arise in each cycle of freeand transparent elections (i.e. not just balloting but the whole environment leading up to this); provided the process is allowed to continue unfettered (i.e. no martial law, PCO, or delusional saviors galloping in on horseback).
