Excuse me?? whether it was the lever or the bullet the fact remains that the perpetrators were on a suicidal mission and we all know where they are bred and who provides them cover. Remain in a state of denial and continue to hatch conspiracy theories.

@ "ps. Apologies for labouring the point but fanatical/senseless following of islam has been the single most destroyer of this nation."

Excuse me??? Just wait up a bit all of you. Stop confusing the Faith with fanaticism "constant insertions of Quranic Ayaats""
Whoaaaaaaaaa! Hold on a second man!! I just quoted that we belong to Allah and we shall return to him too. Just to emphasise that its the same with individuals who die and those of us alive shouldnt forget that and abstain from terrorism as everyone has their times on its way.
@"I would advise you to keep religious beliefs to yourself and base your posts on factual arguments and constructive thought.
Enough is enough with this dogmatic view...we really need to become human beings first before we start to reach the heavens!"
Why on earth are we so full of it!!?? Isn't this extremism? Dogmatic? Okay, fine, do you actually believe that the lever of the sunroof KILLED her? You actually buy that? This is no dogmatic view mate, we as a nation are forced to speculate as we know for sure that the truth shall never uncover in such cases. Not today, not tomorrow, NEVER. There are too many biased powerful individuals who wish it to be hushed and so will it be. I lament at your naivety!!

BIP
I appreciate you taking time to contribute to LMB. I also agree that the US perhaps has a long way to go in terms of actually appointing a female head of state.
However, I don't think we should make any grandiose judgements such as your last parting comment in the post. I for one know well that even the most liberal Pakistanis find such thing somewhat offensive. Hopefully my comment would prompt people to refrain from getting into yet many undue confrontation.
I also appeal to the wider reader community to look beyond the headline news of terrorism, extremism etc. and try to research who wronged the people of Pakistan who until now have never democratically given a majority mandate to a religious party let along a right wing-religious Prime Minister.

to tell you the truth.
I'm african American, I've just learned about bhutto two weeks ago. I kept hearing so much about pakistan, I took and interest and researched. I found bhutto extremely interesting we never even entertained the idea of a woman leading this country here in the united states until now-
and bhutto was a muslim too! that to me was incredible.
on South Asian television there was something vulnerable about her at the rallies
you could see worry in her eyes..and I watched how her security was around her and they didnt protect her.
not like the secret service in the states for the U.S.president-
I remember thinking she should be careful. I'm sure she has a lot of people who dislike her.
and she was educated at oxford and harvard.
when I heard about her assassination
even me who doesnt know anything about pakistan could see she would be assasinated
fanatics are crazy as hell. and they are cowards. they blow up people in the name of allah. if thats how allah
is. I;'d rather worship the devil.

Sumbul
I'd acho the other posters' comments and stress that all of us refrain from fueling unfounded romours.
With all due respect I also find constant insertions of religious verses a bit exclusivist and elitist. Please be aware that Pakistan was the vision for a peaceful land not just for muslims but for people of all faiths (for that matter no faith at all). I would advise you to keep religious beliefs to yourself and base your posts on factual arguments and constructive thought.
Enough is enough with this dogmatic view...we really need to become human beings first before we start to reach the heavens!

ps. Apologies for labouring the point but fanatical/senseless following of islam has been the single most destroyer of this nation.

Agree with Kami
yes there is a possibility that this is yet another attempt by the loony Al Qaeda. I completely agree that fanaticism is the greatest threat to Pakistan, but pardon me, what petty objectives are you pointing at? The sniper shooting could be ISI and equally could be Al Qaeda. Just mentioned one thing that has been brought to attention by word of mouth.
I am not giving a solid proof that i saw an ISI guy do it and its definitely them neither are you sure that it was Al Qaeda. These are both suspects so be it!
