"Main they Nare Wajan Ge"

CTBT are back. But I am surprise that not a single seat (PA OR NA) won by PMLN in Sindh and Baluchistan. (Is it a Punjabee Party??)

@ Aamer Ali:

Give the same Musharraf credit who a day before the elections declared that PML(Q) and MQM would have a clear victory?

Get real man...

It is obvious that the agencies and the army felt that their reputation had been tranished to a point that might be beyond repair. And all for the sake of one extremely unpopular "sharabi kababi" man.

Furthermore, our federation was and is at danger because of one power hungry freak who destroyed our constitution, sacked our entire judiciary, humiliated our national heros, brought out propoganda against our elected leaders, dropped bombs on innocent men, women, and children, muzzled and shook the confidence of our media and joined hands with the biggest gangsters and croonies known to the world (ie. Q and Altaf). What for?

Put simply, the army is, despite its flaws, a national institution and an asset of the nation. Musharraf, who is referred to as the Goberchev of Pakistan, has done everything to damage our sense of nationhood and nationalism, all in the name of the armed forces.

AUDIBLE and OOTHERS please dont worry about Mush, knowing him, I can say with confidence that he will not run, he has faced every adversity head on and will not shy away from this one too. He may quit or he may survive, time will tell. During the past eight years he took some tough decisions, some good and some stupid but more importantly, he set this country on the right course despite opposition from Mullah's and Seculars alike. He gave this country four elections two parliamentary and two municipal, resurrected our financial and educational institutions and gave us a very effective local government system. Furthermore, he choose the tough road, did what he felt right for the country and was never tempted to take the easy way out. Its no secret that I am a Mush supporter, but I can see the election results and know what the people are saying. Their aspirations should be respected.

As for Nawaz Sharif, finally he listened to some sound advice and pulled away from Imran Khan & company. It is all too evident now that if he had succumbed to a boycott, he would have been no where. Good for him. But the dilemma is that he is totally reliant on somebody else's brains, its about time he charged up his neurons, that will serve him good.

For PPP / Zardari it's the moment of truth, the ball is in their court. They now have to make all the choices and decisions, for them everything is not black & white. Further down the road they have to decide whether their party will evolve or continue to be a family asset and eventually become dormant. Sympathy vote will not last for ever.

Coming to MQM, they seem to have come out of this election even stronger, getting even more votes than 1988. This shows that if you have roots in the people, and work for their good while in power then incumbency is not an issue. So good for them too.

And now ANP and the routing of Mullahs from NWFP, in fact from the whole country. ANP suffered a major setback, last time around due to the outfall of the 9/11. Mullahs did win but soon it became evident that winning elections on an issue is one thing and running a government is another. Mullahs miserably failed in that area and have been subsequently kicked out. So their stint in power has ironically been a blessing for the nation, they now know what it is like being ruled by clergy. I see quite a few hands reaching for their ears. As I have said in another comment, people should go back to their routine, i.e. of going to the Mosque on Fridays, listen to the Khutbaa and forget what the mullah said on their way back.

On the whole, from Karachi to NWFP secular forces rule supreme, it's now up to them to work for a broader agenda and not indulge in petty fights and petty issues, otherwise people have demonstrated that they can change their minds pretty quick.

I have a feeling as do a few others that the person behind these fair and free elections may infact be Mr. Kiyani and the army.

I think the army realized that they could no longer sacrifice themselves and their reputation for the ambitions of one man.

Musharraf would never have wanted to bring back the very people he exiled and whose reputation he tried to stain so badly. Furthermore, he would never desire to see his actions, from CJ to the Media, being reversed. Therefore, it would be extremely naive to think Musharraf is to be thanked for this sonehri din in our history.

If it is indeed Mr. Kiyani and the army behind this, I salute them and thank them from the bottom of my heart.

I am laughing at poor Mushraf..who devised all the Q-league strategy. who displayed NWFP as fundamentalist state in international world just to protect his own ass.So in short this was the refrendum against this bastard.

Of all the evils done by Q league and Mushraf...i think PPP and PML-N is still best.

So @Mushraf..."Abb Tera Kiya Hoo Ga Kaaliya".

I think he should be hung and the example should be made out of him.
