PIA resumes New York – Lahore direct flights

PIA has once again resumed New York – Lahore direct flights effective October 27th, 2008. PIA made a similar announcement about an year ago, but then apparently they couldn’t get the clearance from Uncle Sam. I hope they can also start non stop flight from Karachi as well.

Update: Only NY-LHE is non-stop. The LHE-NY sector still has a stopover.

great news – atleast 6-7 hours time saved by this flight – transfers & transits are always hectic.

Actually, it does fly both ways. I have a reservation for both, NY-LHR and LHR-NY in December.

Some good news for Pakistani travellers, Lahoris in specific especially when the national carrier is taking a hard hit under economic crisis, management woes and deep financial troubles.

@adnanhashmi…please share your experience bro once you have taken this trip. in the past i hated the layover in Manchester, which was extremely frustrating as they won’t even let you step outside the plane.

@isl_virk. i think you were right. currently, it only flies non-stop from NY to Lahore. I looked up the schedule on PIA’s website and the Lahore-New York is NOT non-stop.

Interesting. When I look up my PNR details on the PIA website, it shows me a direct LHR-NY flight. I think I should try to get some clarification before I travel.
