Gaudy! I think not. The houses in this series are a manifestation of the aspirations of their inhabitants. Or at least that’s what I tell myself. Here’s one in Defence.

A wedding cake house.
I for myself like traditional building because it suits our climate best. This cross construction only has extra power requirements. but this is their house i have no right to criticize their taste but given a choice i would build a high roofed thick walled house in line with our traditional architecture of muslim subcontinent. Most probably a peeli kothi among numerous peeli/safaid kothis of lahore.
Some of the houses in Def – especially X block – have some nifty designs. It is nice to see that 5 and 10 marlas can really drive the creativity of architects :)
Neat. But you can see far better designs being created nowadays. This one looks a bit old.

A grand house marred by small pox. Poor owners have no choice but to live in it.
That’s why vaccination is important, even for houses.
