I spent two years in Karachi and there was never a week when I did not eat student biryani… Oh god! I miss that taste. Good Luck Lahore!

wow! what a co-incidence visiting lahore.metblogs today was so pleasantly surprising!
here goes the story.
A friend of mine joined ‘biriani’ on facebook. It reminded me of student biryani and I searched for their hopeeless website thru google. An old posting on student biryani from Karachi.metblogs also appeared. I decided to check Lahore.metblogs too and wow! the first posting is of student biryani. It has to be the best biryani available anywhere.I tried it and loved it everytime I visited karachi. Kudos to Student biryani. keep up the good work and I wish them all the best to be super hit in Lahore too

I guess the guy who owns the Student Biryani franchise would think of something clever like introducing more lahori type spices into the biryani, or probably even serving a glass of lassi with the biryani instead of the usual raeta… lol.

lahore and karachi ppl have a major taste difference
the biryani with same taste as of karachi’s is not going to be welcomed

have u tried it? I wonder why u did not like it,because I had been exploring all the biryani stands of lahore in search of the taste that match student biryani.
I hope it stays afloat till my next trip of lahore so that I can verify ur opinion.

so happy it has come to lahore, i had it 15-16yrs ago when i visited karachi. And every time i make biryani i inadvertently compare it with the best biryani that i once had. Needless to say that my cooked biryani never measures up to the nostalgia.
But really after few years of cooking i can say that its an art to have distinct layers of yellow,white+ masala and yet maintaining a wholesome taste.
Another khaba for zinda-dillan
