He inspired many who took up the cause of the left and became voice of the weak. What happened next, whats happening now to Faiz's legacy. It was institutions like Govt College Lahore that spawned such great thinkers who raisied their voice against dictatorship and religous bigottery. Suddenly, the left is no where, PPP the flag bearer is nothing but a collection of feudals and corrupt. Even modern educational institutions like LUMS have succumed to the right, thanks to PTI. There is practically no left in Pakistan, Zia made sure of it and what to say of Faiz's legacy when Jamati's his eternal enemies start using his verses to further their cause. To me Faiz and Noor Jehan were the best that this country can produce after them its all down the hill.
