Rahat Bakers Cantt. Ablazed
Daily Khabrain is reporting that the famous Rahat bakery in DHA Lahore Cantt. at Sarwar Road caught a fire this morning. Fire has done some serious damage to the building & bakery itself. Fortunately there was no loss of human life.
i hope they restart their operations, atleast i counted it as one of good bakeries in Lahore.

OMG…i lived right next to the Rahat Bakery, i grew up there. This is so sad, i hope their were no causalities. On my last trip to Pakistan i went to browse the bakery and the general store, it was nice to see how they grew from just a one story bakery to multi story departmental store with all sorts of merchandise. I really hope they recover from this and weather if they had any type of insurance which will help them rebuild.
Interestingly enough, not only I grew up on their bread, but I and the family even knew the (late) founder too personally. The main main, forget his name, who founded this operation passed away several years ago.
Back in 70’s this was a one shop operation. Earlier (60s?), the founder used to personally deliver bread to the homes on the back of a bicycle. Talk about realizing your dreams — happens in Pakland too for some!
Would be curious as to the cause of the fire.
