Today’s To-do:
Go to a nearby mosque and spend some time there, have a little talk with imam sahib, even you can take “Aftaari” for the persons, who are in “Aitakaaf.” Take time out to do some “ibadat”(prayers) on Shab-e-Qadar, again, you can go to mosque to spend the night.

Thought for the Day:
Time passes by and never comes back, so its in our hands ONLY to develop this understanding for the importance of time and utilize maximum time for preparation of eternal life, that is simple, just be FAIR in worldly matters (that’s first step).

LMB Ramadan Diary – 23rd Roza

“Ya Allah, mujhay sirat-e-mustaqeem par istaqamat sai chalnay ke toufeeq ata farma.” Ameen

Today’s To-do:
Give money (Eidee) for Eid preparations to the poor today.

Thought for the Day:
A life without motto is no life. So, if you think you lead a pointless life, try to pick someone as your guide, who you consider the best person ever (pick with strong rationale and after much consideration, then get stuck). And let me tell you this, there is no better guide than Prophet Muhammad (SAW). A guide is must to help us patronize our lives, ….nai?

LMB Ramadan Diary – 22nd Roza

Prayer for the Day:
“Ya Allah, mujhay apni raza main raazi rahnay ke taufeeq ata farma.” Ameen

Today’s To-do:
Literally count your blessings, actually make two lists, one of the things you always complain about. Share what you will find out.

Thought for the Day:
Ramadan is the month for detoxication (both physical and spiritual)…let it bring a change in you that can last throughout the year with your little effort, which will make you feel good about yourself e.g. you can try to become regular in namaz (prayers).

Recipe of the Day: Chicken Cheese Macaroni

One small pack elbow Macaroni (Kolson’s)
Two packs cream (Milk Pack or Haleeb)
One small pack Nurpur Cheddar cheese (any brand of your choice will work)
One cup chicken (small cubes)
One tomato (medium size)
One onion (medium size)
Chili sauce 3-4 tablespoons
White vinegar 1 tablespoon
A pinch or two of salt
Black pepper freshly grounded according to taste
Oil 3-4 tablespoon

Boil half of packet of macaroni and strain. Cut onion and tomato in small cubes and sauté. Add chicken and cook for 1-2 minutes, then add cream and cubed cheese and stir until smooth. Add chili sauce (more, if you like it hot & spicy), salt (try to avoid adding salt because cheese already got it) and black pepper. Turn off the stove and then add macaroni and vinegar and mix thoroughly.

Nazreen, cheese macaroni ab tayar hay, you can serve this with ketchup or chili garlic sauce.

*The texture would be creamy. Cook on medium heat.

Have a nice day! :)

LMB Ramadan Diary – 21st Roza

Prayer for the Day:
“Ya Allah, mujhay apnay nafs par qaabo panay ke tofeeq ata farma.” Ameen

Today’s To-do:
Find a peaceful corner and meditate. (Hey readers, how do you take “meditation”??)

Thought for the Day:
It is better to save a portion of hectic day to unwind and revitalize rather than building-up mental and physical fatigue.

Recipe of the Day: Fruit Punch
Ok guys, here, I will be sharing some of my own recipes.

Orange juice: ½ liter
Lemon juice: 2 tablespoons
Grounded sugar: 2-3 tablespoons
Sprite/7Up: ½ liter
One small can of pineapple chunks

Crushed ice

Put all the ingredients except ice and Sprite/7Up in a blender and blend until smooth, chill thoroughly in refrigerator. Add Sprite/7Up just before serving with lots of crushed ice.

LMB Ramadan Diary – 20th Roza

Prayer for the Day:

“Taqabbala Allaah minna wa minkum” (May Allaah accept good deeds from us and from you), Ameen.

Today’s To-do:

Maximize the last ten days of Ramadan.

Thought for the Day:

Regarding the last ten days of Ramadan, do as much as you can in relation to your own regular capacity. Do not be intimidated by another’s amount of worship so much that it disheartens you to do any of your own. “Allah’s Messenger used to exert himself in devotion during the last ten nights to a greater extent than at any other time.” (Muslim).

Recipe of the Day: Chocolate Espresso Walnut Tiles

Muft (Free) Aftaari

The most inexpensive way of breaking your fast is to be at a busy traffic signal close to some ‘khokhas’ and you will be served with free dates anywhere in the city on iftaar time ;)

Another alternative that you may want to try is explained on this banner:

LMB Ramadan Diary – 19th Roza

Today’s To-do:

Have iftaari with the family. Simple and sweet.

Thought for the Day:

Tie Your Camel. One day Prophet Muhammad SAWS noticed a Bedouin leaving his camel without tying it. He asked the Bedouin, “Why don’t you tie down your camel?” The Bedouin answered, “I put my trust in Allah.” The Prophet SAWS then said, ” Tie your camel first, then put your trust in Allah” (Tirmidhi).

Recipe of the Day: Moroccan Date Cake

LMB Ramadan Diary – 18th Roza

Prayer for the Day:

For the bereaved: “May Allah Magnify your reward (for patience), and Make perfect (Accept) your bereavement, and Forgive your departed,” Ameen (An-Nawawi).

Today’s To-do:

For those of us who’re missing loved ones that are no longer with us, visit their friends so the pain of the void created by their absence is alleviated and shared amongst those who loved them the most.

Thought for the Day:

It’s perfectly natural to miss the presence of loved ones: just channelize these feelings into positive energy by embracing them instead of shying away from them, and praying lots.
