Daewoo Fried Chickens and 10″ foot

A few days ago a friend was saying that the city looks different if you have a bike. Today, I, without a bike, would like to rephrase it to ‘the city looks different if you don’t have a bike’. I had so much to do and that too without my bike. I asked nearest shop-keeper about the routes and buses, and here I go. Now, I was supposed to take Daewoo #16 to center point, gulberg. I had to wait for 27 minutes for the bus to arrive. It’s almost half an hour just waiting, doing nothing.

I boarded the bus and it was stuffed like anything. It’s strange that 12 people are sitting and almost 40 standing. What kind of public service is this? Despite Daewoo’s bus being air-conditioned, the humidity was at a level I never experienced before. And the staff was insistant that we don’t open the glass windows. We’re really getting roasted there. Reminded me of hot june days, when on a bike you pass behind a Daewoo’s bus, you almost get yourself fried by the heat.

And to add more salt, it was travelling in a zig zag. Took it 72 minutes to reach center point. Funny, isn’t it that you’re still in the same city?

Coming back from center point was no different. I had to go to police line near railway HQ so I boarded the same bus for main market, to get another one. I was thinking to take #43 (some baluch transport with green stripes and a swan like figure). The conducter got me off the bus saying that it will not go to police line. But it goes to shimla pahari and from there, railway station. There’s only one way from shimla pahari to railway station, passing in front of police line. And that ignorant jerk did not know that.

I was so exhausted that I took a rickshaw and reached my destination. On my way, I spotted something very weird; a yellowish billboard of Halla yogurt (if I’m not wrong) near Zafar Ali Road. It had a child standing against a ruler of sort, with a can of yogurt. Somehow, suggesting that eating yogurt will make your child grow faster. But the ruler had only 10 inches in one foot. I swear that! I juggle so much in measuring tapes and figures that I knew something was wrong the moment I saw the ad. An ignorant designer who doesn’t know how many inches will actually fit in a foot. And nobody spotted the error; ignorant jerks.

I really hate the people who are so ignorant about their work. It’s unimaginable for me.

Suggested treatment for ignorant jerks: kill.
