Balloons and conspiracy theories?

In the midst of all the balloonish talk about our conspiracy theories (ssssshhh… to take over this world), on our lahore mailinglist, I feel like a balloon myself. Rather a busted one. But what are the captains’ for? She rightly suggested the song Where Do They Make Balloons by They Might Be Giants. I would rather listen to I’m blue but it’s neither blue, nor has balloon in it:

Marmalade’s from Scotland, Rugs from Pakistan*
Mexico has jumping beans and cars are from Japan
Clowns are from the circus, barking comes from dogs
Eggs come from a chicken and log cabins come from logs

But where?
Where do they make balloons?

But where?
Where do they make balloons?

New York has tall buildings, New Jersey has its malls
Pisa has a leaning tower will it ever fall
The ocean has the fishes
London has a tower
In Holland they have windmills, lots of banks and pretty flowers

But where?
Where do they make balloons?

But where?
Where do they make balloons?

Balloooooons. Ballooooons. Balloooooons. Balloooooons

Spaghetti is from China but Italians make it best
Ants can make an anthill and monkeys make a nest
Hungary isn’t hungry
And French fries aren’t from France
Turkeys aren’t from Turkey; they can’t fly but they can dance

But where?
Where do they make balloons?

But where?
Where do they make balloons?

But where?
Where do they make balloons?

But where?
Where do they make balloons?

  • We’re planning to shoot some more purple balloons (some blue and pinks later) this month, hopefully on 24th or 25th, if everything goes right which actually has never happened before. So watch this space for our captain to post more on our Photo Meetup.
  • For those of you who can’t make it with cameras this time, you can buy purple, pink and blue balloons for the sake of amusement. Please, don’t take Mishaone from Karachi with you, she’s colorblind! Please, also donate some money to this purple balloon guy in the picture.
  • Last but not least, for more information about purple balloon conspiracy theories, please contact for Dr. Darwaish’s lengthy rants and lectures arranged every week on our mailinglist (you get a sampling here on the blog). You have to become a member to get access to this invaluable information; our recruitment policy has also been reversed keeping in view the war of blogs starting from next month.

* How can I miss an opportunity to promote Made in Pakistan :D
