foggy fog

Tonight was the first fog of the season. It keeps coming earlier and earlier every year. I’m very excited though, it means winter’s almostalmost here! :D :D :D very nonsummer person I am. Can’t bardashtofy the sweat, and mostly can’t stand ACs…(they make you seem so far away and so sealed away from life and everything…especially in a car).

But, fog, yum! I remember…2002 mai, when it was my first winter in Lahore, the first fog of the season didn’t come till December. It was new years eve, I remember because I was walking around in the descended clouds till 10 pm on campus. I love Lahore’s fog, it surrounds every bit of your being till you can’t see more than three feet in front of you, and every few steps reveal another bit of the world like a present unwrapped bit by bit. Motion’s very slow, we crawl along roads otherwise rushed through, everyone pauses more often, looks around with a WOWW look at the FOGGG! and moves on dreamily.

Foggy mornings, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
ps. an images.google search on fog reveals some fantastic images. and no, i’m not high on anything. :p

Bhai! Khuda ka khauf karein… Many a men have been innocent victim of car accidents in these ravaging foggy mornings…

Fogs in Lahore cause swere disruption in traffic, delays and cancellation of Flights and Trains and last but not least, ever-increasing road accidents and the resultant deaths…

On the other hand, arrival of winter surely is good news.

Boss, this is not fog; it’s smog. A deadly mixture of smoke with fog. Fog’s been normal to me being an Islamabadian, but this smog really beats hell out of me. Just roam around after 1 AM in the night in winter, you’ll surely suffocate. Besides, it doesn’t let us travel at nights – which dearly hurts me.

    But I surely love fog!!!
