help for the traumatized!

I have been visiting government hospitals where petients-the earthquake victims are residing and I was much pleased to see that they have all been getting good medical assistance and are happy with the staff…however there are some victims who have been badly traumatized. We as part of our college’s program have been providing psychological support to the patients both adults and children and come across some cases who really need warmth and care and not just from us i-e, one therapist at a time but others who are willing to spend their time with them and make them feel good! especially children! they have been given presents of colour books, stories, toys etc but there are some children who are absolutely mute with fear and need people to cheer them up.Most of them don’t have any families over here. I was just wondering if all those who have been thinking on how to help people other than financial help want to volunteer they can try visiting the patients regulary. Just talking to them would make their days without their families over here much much better and would give you a very satisfying feeling too!Trust me on that!
