The sick mob in Lahore…

The mob – angry no doubt – has set fire to McDonalds and KFC and plundered the whole of Mall. The Mall. Right here in Lahore. And now they are said to be heading towards Jail Road.

I just got this from a friend of mine who is right now, as I type, in NCA (National College of Arts). At first he was stuck in traffic at the Mall, but seeing that the situation was getting out of hand, he and his college buddies went back to NCA for refuge. I also got news that Geo is reporting that a lot of cars have been stoned, damaged and even burnt.

A protest gets attention. Yes. A purpose is served. Yes. But is this much violence and destruction of public property necessary? Of course not. But who said mobs are slave to reason! I just sit here in my room in Cantt, and pray that no-one gets killed in “due process” of our infant Democracy, naah, bastard democracy!

God have mercy on our souls.

Yeah. And did you notice the smirk – actually, suppressed laughter – on the faces of some of those mobsters? They were actually doing it for fun! And laughing!

Somethingmakes me thing there’s nothing as rotten in Denmark as there is in Pakistan. Utterly shameful.

What can one say? Except that the rational and knowledgeable amongst us realize that by getting violent or even failing to see all sides of the issue we are playing into the hands of the conflict.

And no. I don’t see a great conspiracy against Muslims behind this. I see a sick and weak bunch of a billion lost souls blaming everything and everyone for being stronger and more purposeful than they are.

It’s the most outrageous thing anyone could do. Burn your brothers’ homes down just because of what somebody else did.

I wish I was there with a machine gun in my hand to get permanently rid of every single one of those wretched creatures. Can’t even call them human beings, leave alone being called Muslims.
