Lahore bound plane crashes in Multan

Most sadly, today a Pakistan International Airline Fokker-27 plane crashed just after take off from Multan Airport while headed towards Lahore. PIA Flight PK-688 was carrying 41 passengers and 4 crew as one of its engines caught fire and it crashed at Suraj Miani nearly 3-kilometers from the Multan Airport.


The crash killed all 44 onboard. The only survivor, an air hostess, died later at a local hospital. All corpses are burnt badly to an extent of being unidentifiable. Innalillahe-wainna-ilaihe-rajioon.

Among the dead were several prominent persons of high rank & repute including Justice Muhammad Nawaz, Justice Nazeer Siddiqui, both judges of the Lahore High Court Multan bench, Pakistan Army Brig. Aftab and Brig. Farhat Sabir, Vice Chancellor Bahauddin Zakaria University Bahawalpur Dr. Muhammad Naseer, renowned Neurologist Dr. Raja Iftikhar Ali, two captains of the Pakistan Army, four doctors, PIA’s Station Manager Delhi, Pakistan Cricket Board’s Legal Advisor, Pilot; Captain Hamid , Abrar Chughtai (First Officer), airhostesses Tabana Jamil and Amna Sikandar Azeem.

    Another woman reportedly died of falling wreckage of the plane in nearby fields…

    That raises the toll of deaths to 46.
