Lahore History Tour – Installment #3

Tomb of Qutb-ud-Din Aibak Continued…

Flight of a few stairs from the courtyard leads to the chamber housing the Sultan’s cenotaph. The entrance is embellished with beautifully carved marble screens.

As you enter the enclosure, you are awed by the serenity and calmness of the tomb. The marble cenotaph is covered with a green cloth inscribed with Quranic verses.

Side-view of the cenotaph.

    Raza you are brilliant!

You are attempting to capture the spirit of Lahore. Please keep it up.

How about the human element and photographing of the cultural aspect of Lahori Life?

Thanks guys…I will try to keep posting bits of Lahori history. As for the cultural aspect, I am sorry but I don’t have any pics for that yet, as I have been focussing more on the historical attractions.
