Your thought on the Middle East Crisis

It’s been nine days since the crisis broke out in the Middle East and it’s showing no sign of rolling back. It has, rather, intensified by each passing day.

Israel’s bombardment of Lebanese territory continues that has resulted in enormous fatalities and immeasurable damage to property & civilian infrastructute. So far, more than 330 Lebanese have died as compared to nearly 30 Israelis killed.

World’s major powers are silent which shows their indifference towards loss of innocent ‘Muslim’ lives as they are no humans and deserve to be killed in the most brutal manner. When their own posts are being targeted, United Nations appears to be as helpless as the innocent citizens of Beirut.

Like many other such aggressions in the past, it also has exposed the biased nature of America’s ‘War on Terror’ and cracks that are much more visible in definition of the word ‘terrorism’.

Express your views about the current situation in the Middle East. And, what, do you think, should be done to end this crisis?

Sorry but this is not the proper venue for the mideast politics. I understand as a Muslim you are concerned, I am concerned we are all concerned but in this forum please limit your topics to the great city of Lahore

The purpose was only to know what people of Lahore think about it…

Why would people of Lahore think different than say the people of Karachi?

Indeed true, this has nothing to do with Lahore. That’s why so many people read Karachi Metroblog as you discuss world politics here. Don’t make us look bad in blogging world, discus it at your personal site or on some appropriate forum.

The earthquake did not destroy Lahore or did not in any way shape or form affect Lahore directly except having an effect on Lahoris. No one had a gripe then. Same is the case with the Lebanon situation now. Thanks Hasan for raising this important issue.

I second the verdict of Hassan and Irfan. This is indeed an important topic to discuss and ponder upon. Its perfectly OK if the citizens of Lahore present there views. The innocents of Labenon surely need help just like earthquake effectees needed. We might (through this forum) help those who are working for the rescue and guard of the innocent labnese that have nothing to do with terrorism.

Guys you might know, Edhi has just gone there for lending a hand!
