Weekly trip to Neverland, Care for a ride?

When I reminisce of my childhood (which I spent in Lahore of course!) I fail to escape the excitement that used to thunder through us every Thursday night (When Friday used to be the day off) in anticipation of the weekly puppet show at the Alhamra Art Council (The Mall). I remember walking up to the ticket booth with my sister where only children could buy the tickets and guess what? Accompanying parents got to sit at the BACK whereas we got the best seats, UP FRONT! Life couldn’t be better with the participative puppetry where the entire crowd of little honey dumplings would be yelling to distract the bad ol’ witch and save the good lil boy only because he whispered out the request for us to do so!
Well all things haven’t changed for the worse yet as they still have that weekly puppet show for kids Every Sunday morning 1100 HRS

Foundation of Rafi Peer Museum of Puppetry at Raiwind Road is a great effort to revive this centuries old art. I wonder if they also hold such shows once or twice a week.

Would love to see review of the place. Has anyone been there? Please share; We’re hearing…:)

    Great post Sumbul!
