2-Stroke or 4-Stroke?
Yesterday, 2 stroke auto rickshaws were on a strike (payya jam) to rally against the govt’s decision on banning from the ‘affluent’ areas of Gulberg and Defence. From what i hear, they’re already banned on Mall Road, and Qinqis cant even travel further from ‘old lahore’. The newer, ‘greener’ four stroke rickshaws are allowed everywhere though.
It was a very tough day as a commuter, since i travel mostly on auto rickshaws here, and couldnt get anywhere that day, and my question is, is the decision valid?
What about the day to day travellor for whom a rickshaw is the only economical means of travelling from one point to another?
HiYa .. aethay weee :-p
ppl may have to suffer, but these 2-stroke gotta go down ; they are making life at Lahore bad as hell. Jail Road was once clean and you could see the whole road till Trauma center from standing at Canal – now ? you can’t see the Race Course ; all you see is white smoke :O – i am in very much favour of kicking these 2stroke out.
It is heard that the affected party is going to protest alongwith the lawyers in anti-government rallies :|
So, after black-coat walas, opposition parties and some fundamentalist groups, now we have have traders and rickshaw drivers in the movement too!
It seems to be turning into a real people’s movement!
NO to pollution and specially noice pollution, alternative Rikshaws are better and should replace the old ones immediately, as nothing is as convenient as a rikshaw for frequent travel in a day.
Rikshaw Lawhour di pehchan aye, kinnay loki shoq nal rikhshaw chalwnday nay…i mean tourists like to try rikshaw sometimes. I understand how it feels if you are waiting for one, and it does not appear, wo bhi iss sarri garmi main, …. i hope we will get more Green ones soon.
Mansoor, lucky you. No one here bans anyone from coming…. or shoot them and say ‘aay kion thay? tumhara kasoor hai.’.
Enjoy.
