Things are taking a serious turn in the capital, Islamabad, as special security forces take positions for a full-fledge assault on the radical Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa following a deadly clash earlier during the day that killed at least 9 people.

A curfew has been imposed in vicinity of the Lal Masjid complex while the whole area has been sealed for general public.

We are deeply concerned about the situation in Islamabad as it has direct impact on the whole of our country including Lahore.

What do you, as Lahorites, think about the happenings in Islamabad?

Is Government taking the right steps,
Should these bylaws be eliminated by force,
Or, do you sympathize with the victims of Lal Lasjid?

What impacts are these events going to have on our country as a whole and Lahore in specific?

While talking to Dr. Shahid Masood, Maulana Abdul Rashid Ghazi, Na’ib Khateeb of Lal Masjid has said that they are ready to give up arms if Govt. guarantees that no action would be taken against them… He’s live on GEO right now!

By what standard are these people ‘students’ and ‘religious’ when they hold automatic rifles and wear gas masks? This is pure fundamentalism. The gov should avoid bloodbath but they need to snuff em out and punish them. I dont care who you are or how long your beard is, the moment you take up arms against your own people, u are a terrorist to me.
