Kaun Kehta Hai…

I couldn’t resist sharing this piece that a friend on Orkut forwarded me:

Who says that I will die,
I’m Maulana afterall,
Clad in a burqa, will off I fly!

Here’s an amusing video on YouTube mocking Maulana Abdul Aziz’s arrest:

    aap tu maualana hain

burqa pahan kar nikal jayein gain

masla kuch parda nasheeno ka hay

jin ke mishgaa pay dharay hain kuch baychain pal

jin kay aariz par abhi nokhaizyon kay gulaab khilnay hain

ab wo burqa na raha, wo khwab chupanay wala nazar say gir gaya

ab wo sath na raha humdum, chahray pay pardaa dalnay wala

aap nay orrha he tha, tu bharam rakhna tha iss ka

aap nay chunna hee thaa, tu saath nibhana tha iss ka

burqa udas hay magar kia hay kay aap bhee

yoon hee pakray gaye…dum daba kar bhaag jana tha

aap kahtay thay husan ka rakhwala hay ye

ap tu mualana hain, lag pata gaya ho ga

aap pakray gaye, tu kia hum na pakray jayein gain

ab sub parda nasheen mujrim gardanay jayein gain

aap khud patli gali say nikal liye

hamain chor kar jaisay bay-nishaan kafila

gard o ghubar main khust o khashaak honay kay liye

app phir burqa pahan kar nikal jayein gian

kauuuun kahta hay kay aap mar jayein gain?

    hehehehe…

unfortunately, you speak nothing but the truth my friend.

but perhaps people like us can refrain from catching the stereotypes and then running with em… we have all cracked jokes on maulaanas and mullahs and what not… but a public forum demands a tad more responsibility, I think.

Generalizing the great term of ‘maulaana’ and then degrading it is what EVERYONE is the media is doing nowadays… and the stereortype is there also for a reason; a lot of so-called maulaanas have not even understood the responsibility that comes with wearing such a tag as maulaana.

It’s saddening, it’s frustrating… and in the words of great wannabe-realists all around the world, ‘aah, such is life’.

@Pretty Simple: Wah ji Wah… Muqarrar, Muqarrar!

@Momekh: You are right friend, it’s sadening to see the whole world making fun of two important symbols of our religion; the burqa and the holy cleric (Maulana).

You are right we should not join’em. Instead, we can call our dear Ms as Auntie Aziz ;)

Muslims SHOULD unveil/malign a disguised Burqa Man running away from the scene leaving kids and women behind!!! *period*.

Keep that up muslims – I proclaim!
