New Designer Label: Milli and Madiha
Models sashaying to techno-desi music on Monday July 9th at the launch of Milli and Madiha’s designer label, Avari Lahore.
I had the good fortune of attending my very first Pakistani fashion show this past Monday, courtesy of a friend at the sponsoring newspaper, The Nation. A new label apparently, Milli and Madiha, consisted of mostly party-wear for the ladies and two shalwar kurta suits by Amir Adnan sent in as a favour for the gentlemen. Short and sweet program, which included presenting tokens to the special guests such as Maria B. and cake-cutting ceremony for one of the young female designers in honor of her birthday the day before. The background music was so-so, and extremely loud, the lighting was perfect, and the hi-tea beat the clothes displayed. Then again preference regarding clothing is purely personal, so I would encourage you to visit or peruse the new collection when you can.
By the way readers, Have you attended a fashion show in Lahore recently?
Hey, nice post. Its good to see you again Mars. :)
Not recently, but have attended quite a few ages ago. But they were nice!
The last time I sat in front of a ramp was this basant at Haveli Asif Jha. The suplendid show was themed on Lahore’s 12 gates and each show-run was dressed in the same mood & era of that particular gate. Though, I don’t remeber any of the designer’s names :P
The event was directed by Fareiha Altaf while The Coca-Cola Company was the sponsor.
Opee: Thanks a ton! Glad to be back! I have been to quite a few across the Atlantic, but since this was my first invite to a Fashion Show here in Lahore, I was quite curious about it all.
Hasan Mubarak: Wow, the Haveli! Sounds like a wonderful experience…thanks for sharing it here! :)
