I don’t get the logic behind this message? Is it some sort of Deeni Message? Or is there any cultural history behind?

  2. Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 21st, 2007 @ 5:59 am

Logic is anti-psychology. Ppl usually say k bhi ye ye dress code hay, yehi pahnna. They just said, k bhi ,,,,ye nahi chalay ga :D

I can be related to deeni or cultural message and even a dress code by Gov. :D

It’s about being cultured & civilized I guess. You would find such warnings and limitations at places mostly frequented by families…

  4. Samalik (unregistered) on July 21st, 2007 @ 2:03 pm

quite used to these warnings/instructions while living at PU hostel.i guess sociology/culture has nothing to do with it,its only close minded people midset.can one go there wearing DOHTEE????

  5. Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 21st, 2007 @ 3:22 pm

Dhotee is allowed as far as one is covered :)

  6. Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 21st, 2007 @ 4:07 pm

@SMalik: What is “close minded people midset”, how u define it? ..i think its more related with ethics.

  7. iceCube (unregistered) on July 22nd, 2007 @ 6:42 am

    I don’t care about logic-shmogic… I don’t want to see someone’s hairy legs while I’m eating.

  8. Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 22nd, 2007 @ 2:32 pm

    see :D

  9. SMalik (unregistered) on July 22nd, 2007 @ 2:57 pm

Icecube its only u who doesn’t care logic -shomigc, we all seem to be ajoba, most of the things that we do are unexplainable phenomena by psychology, sociology. I wish this board would have read “NO spitting in food street” or ” No eve- teasing in food street “.pretty simple that’s what I think ethics are ,not banning a hang out place of lose dress in 49 C.

  10. Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 22nd, 2007 @ 3:16 pm

@SMalik: At least this “no spitting board” should be placed all over Pakistan :D . No eve- teasing is again not a bad idea. But all this is to do a lot with education, realization and brought up.

This board; Buzurgo ke bat kabhi kabhi maan leni chahye, zarori nahi her chez issi waqt samajh aye :)

And by practicing this, you will show respect and obedience to the elder. Tolerance ..tolerance..

We need to learn going out of our comfort zones.

  12. TREETOP (unregistered) on July 23rd, 2007 @ 7:00 pm

No eve teasing? what is left in life?

  13. Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 23rd, 2007 @ 7:06 pm

  18. iceCube (unregistered) on July 24th, 2007 @ 9:56 pm

@SMALIK: I totally agree with you.

  19. Faraz (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 4:01 am

the question is… what happens if u do arrive there wearing a nikar? would there be guards stopping u from coming in? or bouncers ready to throw u out? will u be fined? will the waiters refuse to serve u? will they take your photographs and hang them with this board?… i mean, this board is not giving any specifics… need more info.

  20. Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 4:04 am

Solid. Why dont u give it a try..i mean :) zara pakki info mil jaye ge phir :p

  21. Faraz (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 4:21 am

will do… just keep some marham patti ka saman ready :)

actually i can almost forecast what would happen… first a very badmash looking old man will come over and tell me politely “aap to parhay likhay hain… yeh board aap nai nahin parha hai?”… and i will have to instantly refute his assumption that i am anywhere near a parha likha… this usually leads to instant hatha pai involving all the bystanders and some of the waiters from phajjay kay payee…. rest is a bit too complicated to describe… bas zara marham patti ka samaan…..:)

  22. Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 4:34 am

hmmm…maybe marham patti ka saman will not be needed, as i m sure they are curteous enough, who knows malish kay baad sewa hojayee….info main izafa bhi, so u will be killing two birds with one arrow :D. Best wishes for your adeventure.

  23. Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 4:42 am

Then Maybe when you will say “O pai jan, hunn meno samajh lag gae ae”, …kia pata free main Gwalamandi Food Street ka zabardast food bhi mil jaye. :) ayaasshiiii hee ayaaashiiiiiii.

  25. Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 5:22 am

  26. Faraz (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 5:28 am

its accoustic and unplugged… from one of the famous rock bands (from the time a bit before they actually became famous)… the song they never released (and maybe should have)

  27. Opee (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 5:32 am

its a song GawalMandi by Noori’s brother..

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yDbkF41ruY

in case somebody’s really interested to see its video..

  28. Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 5:34 am

interesting… then a few only might have heard it.

  29. Opee (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 5:40 am

It was not an album song. They were two songs, originally sung by Noori’s brother in a small Jam Session at LUMS back in 2001. One was rather an 18+ version. But this one got a bit mashoor (A BIT). Anyways, God bless Noori’s soul.

  30. Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 5:45 am

    @op: thanx for the link/info.

  31. Faraz (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 5:48 am

God bless you too Opee… thanks for providing the youtube link… its amazing how many things one can find on youtube.

i heard the other (18+) song as well. brilliant again :)… i think i still have it in mp3 format but will have to search for it in one of my old hard disks

  32. Faraz (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 5:50 am

btw… this Faraz who has uploaded this video on youtube is NOT me…. just thought i should make it clear :)

  33. Opee (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 5:55 am

@Faraz: Thanks.. :) .. True, on youtube you find whatnot. The video on youtube ain’t good. Cuz you don’t hear him saying rather you hear crowd screaming more. Audio (mp3 format) i had lums wala.. was good to listen more. But yea.. i was noticing that it was some Faraz that had uploaded that song. :)

  34. Pretty Simple (unregistered) on July 25th, 2007 @ 5:58 am
