.. Zindagi Main Kabhi Kisi Say Aap Nay Pyaar Tow Kya Hoga?

Aap hanstay bhee hain?

Aap rotay bhee hain?

Aap warzish bhee kartay hon gay?

Aap ne zindagi mein mohabbat tow kee hogi?

Kya Logon ko aap ki Baaton main Tazaad Nahi Lagta?

Meera Sahiba, Subha Subha Itnay Shokh Rang

Sheikh Rasheed Sahib, Aap key affairs to kaafi mashhoor hain….kya aapney kabhi kisi sey *ROMAAANS* bhi kiya?

Maulana Junaid Jamshed: Kahan woh chamak damak, kahan woh larkion kai darmiyan ghoomna, aur kahan darwaish numa zindagi. Woh din yaad aatay tow hongay?

Yes, this Lahori product is called Sohail Warraich. He has his own funny ways to ask difficult and *very* personal questions to the personalities from whom others simply cannot even think to ask such questions directly.

Ek-Dil-Geo-Ke-Saath.jpg

He has a long list of conducting up-close-and-personal interviews with influential personalities of our society. Many prominent personalities from politics, showbiz, sports and social work have been featured on Aik Din Geo Kay Saath. The long list of Guests on the programme have included but not limited to: Benazir Bhutto, Moin Quraishi, Laloo Prashad, Shahzad Roy, Reema, Akbar Bugti, Altaf Hussain, Meera, Qazi Husain Ahmed, Nirma, Maulana Fazlur Rahman, Zara Shaikh, Ajmal Khattak, Faisal Saleh Hayat, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Abrar.

He reflects somehow Lahore’s open mind and open-hearted culture upon asking questions. The powerful personalities and influential individuals whose life was unhidden to the normal people was ‘somehow’ revealed to the public, as GEO invites you to spend a day with politicians, film stars, musicians and athletes with a unique way. Sohail Warraich with his accent and upper-lip-raising smile help Policitians to come clean and for viewers to have a little laugh.

Though I most of time his comments and questions ‘agitate’ and ‘irritate’ me on Geo but it really made me think when at an occasion he asked:

Aye Allah, Agar Iqbal Aaj Zinda Hotay Tow Main Un Say Poochta. Kya Aap Aisa hi Pakistan Chahtay Thay?Thnk!

However, continue to read more…

Not just Ek Din Geo Ke Saath, speaking of his literal work. He has been gravely into writing serious non-fiction as well. A Lahori Politician Nawaz Sharif and exiled Ex-Prime Minister of Pakistan, opens up to Sohail Warraich in a big way – from his early childhood to becoming the most powerful man in Pakistan this book presents Nawaz Sharif’s own version of the personal and public issues (related to him) that have often been mentioned in the local and international media. Most notable and interesting is Nawaz Sharif’s account of the Kargil war, his involvement in it and his relationship with General Pervez Musharraf.

Book also contains rare photographs from Nawaz Sharif’s college days among many others.

Jarnelon%20Ki%20Siyasat.jpg Sohail Waraich has a unique, admirable way of researching important political issues. He does not force his own opinions on the readers but lets other notable personalities (from the very field he’s researching) do the talking for him.

In his latest attempt, he has interviewed Army Generals, notable politicians and other important personalities and has seeked their opinion on the army’s involvement in politics for his book “Jarnailon Ki Siyasat”.

I believe he has two personalities. If you read his book, it will leave you an image of a person who is very serious in nature. While, the way he plays with hidden winks and giggles while questioning with people on GEO TV, he paints a totally different personality.

Asking once: Jab Aap Muhallay Main Nikaltay Thay, Tow Aap Kay Aas Paas Titliyan Tow Mandlati Hon Gi.

Asking some show-biz person: Kabhi kisi Fan nay Aap ko I Love You Bola?

He once asked Ghulam Mustafa Khar: Aap key kitney Bachey hain?
Khar Sahab: Mere Nau Bachey Hain
He says: Lekin Aam Taassur to Iss say Ziyada ka hai…
***Khar only gave him a stare***

Asking Mohammed Asif: Suna hai cricket main bohat paisa hay ..ap kitna paisa kama chukay hain ab tak ..

Asking Rana Naveed and his Wife: Suna hay ap dono nay ghar say bhaag kar shadi ki ….
***Rana Naveed and his wife remained silent and shy***
***Sohail Warraich smiles again with raised corners of lips***
:)

Asking Shahida Minni: Apki umer kitni hai
***and he smiles***

She replies: …mash’Allah abhi main 30 ki hon
***and he smiles again with his raised-lips and innocent look, says nothing*** :) LOL.

This guy really irritates with his way of speach, still, I’m always glued to TV whenever his show is on.

I must appreciate your effort in researching the most hilarious of his questions. You deserve an Oscar!

His two books are on my future read-list. Will definitely try them out for the titles and reviews suggest some serious candid, shocking stuff…

From the most recent show that he did with famous stage artist, Koddu:

Sohail Warraich: Yeh, barri barri chamakti garrian (cars) dekh kar inhain haasil karnay ya torr dalnay ka dil tou chahta hoga!

Koddu: Haasil karnay ko tou bohat dil chahta hai par torrnay ka nahi; pata nahin aglay nay kitni mehnat say khareedi hogi…

    Such a wise little man!
