iphonefinal.jpgLets talk about future of cell phones i.e., iPhone, Apple’s gorgeous product that on Metroblogging everyone talked about (even in funny ways). It is super-hot gadget du jour and tech-savvy people around the world are waiting for it, see Vancouver and Hawaii for example as it is only available in USA with AT&T only (maybe its there by now).

Reason to bring this iPhone on LMB is that after Chennai, India -Pakistan also got involved in marketing monopoly by using this name. Yes, our very own bank UBL offered an entry in a lucky draw to win “iWin iPhone”, if one joins their Orion Club. Now, hi-fi aficionados will go and get the membership for maybe just iPhone (apparently attractive enough..huh?), what will happen if they come to know that iPhone cannot work in Pakistan? who knows, these are real ones or just a perfect clones or look-alikes, as Chennai posted, to mislead the buyer. Interestingly, you can measure the level of freakin’ indulgence by reading this, that a person actually had undergone an operation to re-size his thumb for using iPhone, …well, he deserves a wow (if he actually did that, which appears not to be the case).

Anyways, guys, if you look around for the best deal of iPhone (they are quite expensive), specially in Hafeez Center, don’t get maneuvered by the tactics and don’t even think about a Chinese version working well for you because the latest version itself is with lots of imperfections.

technicaly speaking, there are few hacks to make it work (and you can) BUT UBL using it for their product markeeting is just a hoax, a stupidity for which they should be sued. And i commemorate you for bringing this up , i knew this from a time and wanted to write but never got a chance. Bravo..

@Bilal: In Lahore, for winters, its good to have a heater in hand :), i read about this that it gets heated and screen gets smudged, so user need to wipe off again and again. No doubt its so smartly and beautifully designed, but dont fall for the apparent beauty… :)

@BZ: Thanks for appreciation, story suggested by Farrukh, thanx to him to for bringing this up… and dont get annoyed if you never got the chance :)) , LMB is waiting for ur posts.

The story about a man in Denver undergoing an operation to resize his thumb is false. It was humorous article written in some Denver News in America. You can read the Editor’s note clearing up a satirical column written by an Apple enthusiast.

And about the iPhone getting heated up, i had a chance to use one of my coworkers iPhone and i didnt notice any over heating issues. It was a little warm which is normal as far as cell phones go. I have a flip phone by samsung. i am so sure that after half hour of use i am actually contributing to Global Warming and i can’t even put it next to my face without getting a “cell burn”…

I do have to agree on the finger smudging the screen. But then again i was at my lunch break at the time and i left traces of my Turkey Deli Roll on her iPhone..lol.

this is the actual article and look how people there in USA took this :), one can easily feel carried away. You can check out an article about heating and other faults on msn gadgets.

UBL’s promotion states that if the iPhone is not available in the market at the time of drawing (sometime in October), the winner will receive an iPod and a cell phone.

there is .. iphonesimfree.com … is where im sending my babies :) 80$ a pop and its a software based crack they will not open your phone and hence international warranty from Apple does not get voided .. Apple actually is not stopping this because this crack has caused a HUGE number of iphones to sell by people who dont want the iphone with AT&T so its a blessing in disguise for Apple.

@Bilal: How could you forget getting me one for free B|

@everyone: A teenager from New Jersey has unlocked his i-phone and was able to run it successfully on T-Mobile, a rival of AT&T.

Maybe we can arrange a seminar for our Hafiz Centre technicians with Mr.Hotz as the guest speaker…
