Youth Welfare Organization

Hi everyone, if you guys remember coupla’ weeks back I posted something about Summer Bash organized by jBn Jaws and on first day of show, they played the movie 300 and Josh from Canada performed on that lavishing evening. What I most wanted to tell you guys was about YWO, they are in CMA Colony, Lahore Cantt.

Youth Welfare Organization is managed by teenage girls. Why I did not mention this earlier?, well, I did not have any material other than the chairperson’s number, who said “websites are quite expensive, we cannot afford one and that’s why we don’t have one”, when I asked the chairperson about website from where I can gather info to write on LMB.

She said that we are nine friends in school and our families support us financially to help poor kids, who want to study and their families cannot afford such. There was a presentation on how they go to the needy, interview with them and then provide with whatever help they can do. It can be fee, books, bags, uniform and also they can talk with school administrations to lessen the fee for that particular case..mmmmoVed..haan? now don’t start thinking that WHAT good you did when you were a teenager? Man, these kids are so organized and lemme share this brochure with you. It says;

Exciting projects for Students and Graduates

Membership fee is 50-100 Rs for students. There are certain projects for members, which they are required to finish by a due date, at the end of which they will be given a recognition certificate for working with our organization.

Following are the Programs:
Members will be arranged into committees and each committee will work on any ONE or TWO of the following projects.

1. Lets see how much money you can collect.
2. Compose a song and play it.
3. Collect books and give them away.
4. YWO newsletter designing.
5. Writing articles for newspaper/magazines.
6. Fund-raising campaigns (including designing posters etc).

They offer so much from concerts and YWO T-shirts to hang outs including semi-sponsored trips to Sozo World and Joy Land.

I am not writing the details for you, because most of LMB readers, I know are not teenagers :D. So if you want to contribute, do spread the word and let the teenage girls around you start doing something meaningful in life a bit earlier.

    YWO indeed are charity and we at jBnJaws were very excited about working with them and helping out as best we could. A lot of us took up responsibility of donating every month to YWO so they could send needy children to school and i think everybody who can should also do that.
