Motorbike Abuse!

Picture%281%29_filtered_ladder.jpg
It makes me wonder how people manage to carry goods worth a pick-up on motorbikes to save “kharcha”. Last week I saw a motorbike, the passenger was carrying a very heavy machine, while he was facing the traffic(a common practice, right??). I like this approach, here, people do maneuver their resources to get max benefits!! :)

With regards to the picture……I saw them yesterday in Cantt. They were carrying this big ladder (looked quite heavy), moving very slowly and carefully and I chased them for almost five minutes to get this pic (dont tell anyone, i am just telling you ;)), and I was like, come on, they could have hired a pick-up (isn’t it so dangerous?). I wonder how they got themselves fixed in this ladder and then sat on the bike. :P

a pickup will charge 400-600rs for this thing :) why not burning a simple 30-40rs. patrol to do that – when you can :)

i would disagree with the idea of hiring the pickup untill pickup guys have a charges schedule or rates on per KM basis – otherwise, believe me i would prefer in every way to get my own transport instead of messing with them on high rates.

Money matters, right, but they are risking their lives over it?

Not only their own but the lives of other’s too, there are not brake lights visible, in case of stopping, one coming from the back cannot see the tail lights, and hence would ram the bike. At the end of the day, either the car driver will escape the scene, or the bikers will be termed innocent by crying out of their misery “aik ghareeb admi ki kaun sunta hai!!!”

Actually, they’re not risking their lives. In fact, they’re saving other people’s lives! And no, i’m not high [or anything]! Answer me this: What would you do if you saw this motorcycle with a ladder on the road? Yes, you’d stay clear of it… a long way! And it takes care of that invisible red backlight! I mean if you can’t see a big ladder, what are your chances of seeing a small, rectangular red light?
