Ramadan Diary – 26th Roza
Supplication for today:-
The Holy Quran says in Chapter 3, The family of Imran Aayat 8:
“Our Lord!” (they say), “Let not our hearts deviate now after Thou hast guided us, but grant us mercy from Thine own Presence; for Thou art the Grantor of bounties without measure.”
Today’s to do:-
Invite your neighbours for Iftar-cum-dinner tonight and make them feel special.
Thought for the day:-
“Those who don’t command themselves soon become the receiver of commands from others.”
Recipe of the day:- Gulab Jaman
Ingridients:
Dried milk powder 1 cup
Ghee 1 tbsp
Flour 2 tbsp
Cream 2 tbsp
Baking powder 1 1/2 tsp
Egg 1
Cardamon powder 1 tsp
For syrup:
Sugar 1 1/2 cup
Water 1 cup
Procedure:
1. Sift flour and baking powder.
2. Add dried milk in it.
3. Add ghee, egg and cream and cardimon powder.
4. Mix well and make a dough.
5.knead well for eight minutes.
6. Make small one inch balls.
7. heat oil on low flame.
8. Add balls in it when it is moderately hot on low flame.
9. when the balls float on the surface on oil, increase heat a bit.
10.Take out when light brown.
11. Put them into the syrup immediately.
12.Poke each with fork.
For syrup:Combine sugar with water and boil till it relatively thickens.
Add cardamons for flavor.
Enjoy hot or cold!

I like to make Khoyey wali gulab jaman. Its the only thing in the world on which i experimented the most. I mean i tried to make gulab jamans of the things which it cant be made of :D …like white flour :))

PS, you ever tried making gulab jamans of corn flour ;-) I once did :P

Corn Flour :| …how cud u make balls with that? White flour works well, shape wise and look wise. Taste wise it truely fails with the hard part inside it.

I always wanted to make those perfect, heavenly Gulab jaman regardless kai kisski hoon, tried a couple of recipes but failed miserably then got my hands on this one and Trust me, they are what i wanted. ‘ve made them four to five times, and even made them on sehri. hehehe
Corn flour, flour girls! what’s going on? Nido powder milk rules bhai! :)
PS: I was naive enoughh to take coorn flour as white flour then, years back :*)
