Pocket Maaroo Sai huSHyaar Rahain :|
Hi everyone, mubarik hoooo……..finally, its Chaand Raat. But before you go out for shopping and new clothes, bangles, shoes, mehndi and for all the fun out there, I would like to give a few important tips to “safely” shop around in Lahore on this joyous night.
1. On Thursday shopping venture, my sister lost her wallet in Liberty. Yeah, a group of ladies is out there, hunting for the most innocent looking people (according to her) and a group of gentleman too, in case of opposite gender. What that nice lady did was, that she cut her bag, made up of some kinda cotton stuff and took out her wallet, when we got stuck (lets say, that was a planned hug for saying Eid(eee) Mubarik) in a group of 3-4 ladies. So please, do take care of your goods and your wallets, bags, shoppers etc. Funny thing was that just before leaving for market, my dad warned us of such and she is still thanking God that she was able to clench a good part of bag, which saved her iPod and mobile.
2. Be diligent where and how you are parking your car, do take care of your car keys and lock all doors (if manual), check car windows, don’t forget to do a recheck.
3. Most of the shops/grocery stores/super stores are going to be closed for two days at least (I am sure about Pace), so, try to get most of the things that you could need in next two days in any case.
I hope most of the families are out for shopping by now, but still if you care about others, you can spread the word.
Have a fun Chaand Raat and …………Eid Mubarik!!!.
I love your updates of Lahore but PLEASE do something about your terrible English!
:) …yeah, you are right i need to work on it.
But any suggestions??? :| :|
Ayesha,
Metroblogging is all about ameture’s getting togeather to talk about what is going on in a particular city. It has nothing to do with professional writing and news reporting.. The Work that PS puts into these Blogs is phenominal, she goes outo f her way to report stuff to people all over the world who want to stay in touch with what is going on in Lahore, I see you appreciate that too .. but the rest of your comment i thought was Disrespectful and plain Rude. I personally am a firm believer of if you cant add anything positive you should`nt really put negitivity out there too .. and that is what i got from your reply..
Ps. I think you owe her an apology !!
@Bilal: Right on!
Well, i think her English is just fine! Better than most and definitely much much better than my husband’s! hehe
To PS: U go girl. Dont listen to her.
I understood every sentence of the post. Ayesha, please don’t get excited. Baat samajh mein aa gayee haina ? Buss tou phir ttheek hai
Bilal this is the internet but that does not mean this blog is not being read by millions of foreigners. THINK it creates a stereotype about Pakistanis and their ENGLISH abilities. I did say it out of rudeness but out of concern AND because I have been blogging for 5 years – I am saying out of experience. When you write terribly it shows you have a lack of respect and concern for your readers. Blogger please use the automatic spell check that is now a add on firefox or copy your entries on to microsoft word and check before you post. Would you like it if people wrote in terrible Urdu on a blog? Anyhow I know its pointless arguing with you’ll so this is the last I will be saying on this matter – do continue to abuse me if it makes you happy. Bye
@All: Dont get hyper.
Ayesha,
Nowhere in my post did i abuse .. nor did i want to .. please dont take this in that direction. I thought your comment was Rude and i think almost everybody who posted here besides me agree’d .. what does that say ?
@All: Spell-check is always good for your health; use it :)
@Ayesha: *hands a chilled Coke* Chill friend!
Thanks Hasan. That line was supposed to be I didn’t intend to be rude. I really wasn’t its not my fault if certain people interpret it that way and I don’t think I need to apologize for being right. Waisai yeh post mujhai kuch samaj nahi aayai that’s why I said she/ he needs to improve. AND I have linked this blog now for over a year to mine if I thought it was that bad I wouldn’t have done so. Peace.
:)
Oh Hasan, aik Coke idher bhi, chilLLlled !!! :))
@P.S: A chilled glass of Anaar Ka Rus (with ice) for you…:)
@Ayesha: As you said, this blog might be read by “millions of foreigners” and would “create a stereotype about Pakistanis and their ENGLISH abilities”… i just wanted to point out at your last comment (i.e. one comment above mine), line 2, word 7 onwards… As a foreigner i wouldn’t understand it quite well either would I?… just a food for thought!
line 3 word 7 onwards… sorry :)
Thanx Faraz …for a healthier drink than Coke!!! :)
Pisso minnosoon ekka matta dan kahta karala wadaik nahai..yeh samaj aayi FARAZ? aap toh foreigner nahi ho nah? or are you? I spoke in Urdu for those who couldn’t understand English and the above one is in Sinhala…take care have a nice life.If you can’t humble yourself in front of right or wrong then what’s the point of talking to you? At least the admin appreciated my comment.GOODBYE.
:|
*PS desperately looking for a second Coke, chillled, for Ayesha…
Haasaaannnnn………..haasaaaaannnnn!!!??
uffff….. Ayesha, i dont know why are you so upset my friend… its a very frank and casual blog… we dont claim to be language experts, neither are we expected (by locals, foreigners, sri lankans) to write flawless and authentic english.
You can find language and grammar mistakes even in new york and london based blogs… so does that create a stereotype abt english abilities of londoners and new yorkers… and if yes, do they really care?
and thanks for your nice remarks in sinhaleese… it so happens that i have lived in sri lanka for many years… :) (which makes me “almost” a foreigner… and i can “almost” understand what u said!… *hands a chilled Coke* …. chill my friend!!!
haha touche !!!
:'(
@Faraz: Can u tell us how NICE sinaheelee remakrs were??? :|
I’d like a chilled Coke as well… please! :)
Sorry, we are already short of chilled cokes :))
Btw i just had tea and Gourmet’s chicken CHeez petties, ….wud u like to have some?
*Passing the plate full of petties to V
@PS: Sinhalese ain’t that difficult a language… no, really!
“Pisso minnosoon ekka matta dan kahta karala wadaik nahai”
translates to: monsoon mein aik paisay kai karalay khaa kar mein nahayee.
@PS petties nahin patties! kyun aur bhi naraz karna hai Ayesha ko! aik aur chilled coke muftay mein daini paray gi!!! ;)
Oh God, magar, …..akhir karailay hee kion? :p
:| i was SO conscious and look at me, i again made a mistake …. :'(
*a voice in the background *Mera kia ho ga kaaliaa???
@V: Muftay ka tu pata nahi, ye khali crate he mujhay paray ga ab :D ….Confirm!!!!
*PS is thinking about posting by using sign language :)
no idea… maybe they have something to do with the fact that she’s so bitter ‘n all. ;)
Forget Cokes! SriLanka is famous for its tea cultivation… may be that is what she really needed all along. Do you still have some of it left?
