This is indeed a sorry picture, but before drawing any conclusions , let me remind you that India endured two assassinations of sitting Prime Ministers followed by worst ethnic riots and anarchy in which thousands lost their lives, but they came out of it stronger.

We can do that too, just need to set our priorities right, we need to ensure that elections happen as soon as possible, this will show the world that we too can sustain such shocks. Right now all political parties, particularly those that matter in Sindh including PPP and MQM have acted sensibly, otherwise, the situation could have been much worst. What is important now is that we hold elections and swear in a new government ASAP, that will send a strong message to the terrorists as well as the rest of the world. Furthermore, all political forces should start talking with each other and no political entity should be marginalized. We should all work to avoid chaos and confrontation.

Which two assassinations? Indira Gand’s assassination did result in anti sikh riots. But Rajiv Gand’s assassination did not.

And just because India came back stronger does not mean that Pakistan also can. You guys are so different from us(mostly backward), right from your religion.

It is amazing how Pakis still did not get it. It is Islam which is keeping you in the state you are.

It is amazes me how Indian Hindus still did not get it. It is Hinduism which is keeping you in the state you are. 999 million indians live in pathetic conditions, below poverty line and you have audacity to make scornful comments here about other’s state..

adopt Christianity my stupid ignorant hindu friend.. maybe then you might prosper like us in America..

    My dear American,

Are you so ashamed of calling yourself a Pakistani that you have to masquerader as an American so as to feel better, even if momentarily only.
Any how no rush in replying. First finish your namaaz (most important activity for a paki), then send your cheque to Al Qaeda or Taliban, and then if time permits you can reply.

    My dear Indian,

What makes you think that those 999 million Indians which live in pathetic conditions, below poverty line are only visible to Pakistanis.

    Mr. American,

What makes you think that I am not your real biological father. I was the one playing bed kabbadi with your mom.

Mr. indian I dont want to get into a religous rant with you, because I am not my self religous at all. Perhaps the murder of Rajiv Gandhi didnt trigger any riots was because it was carried out by a Tamil hindu.

But thats beside the point, its not only you but humans of all races and religions have lived in an illusion that they are some how different from others, the fact is they are not. Currently the most civilized races on the planet i.e. the Europeans and the Japanese are guilty of committing worst atrocities in the history of mankind. It is also interesting to note that every human is capable of committing murder and at the same time capable of knowingly sacrifice his/her life to save someone else’s. It all depends on circumstances and the prevailing conditions. So chill out and don’t fan the hatred burning in you, the only thing you gonna harm is your health.

    Kami,

There were no riots after RG’s assassination because he was killed by SriLankan LTTE terrorist and plus he was not a sitting PM. He was campaigning for 1991 election.

I am laughing at Pakistanis because of the way they are confused. They still can’t decide whether islamisation is good for Pak or not. One one had they claim that no radical party can ever win an election in Pak, on the other hand they hate a person (BB) who says she will wipe out radical islamists. Why did BB have enemies in the first
place if she was a moderate.

Don’t worry about me. Hatred for Pak is long gone as we started leaving you far behind in economic race. It is replaced by pity these days. Pity for nice pakistanis (however few they are) who have to live in that atmosphere.

Yes Sri Lankan LTTE terrorists nurtured by Indian Tamils, who are also hindus. Rajiv was killed because he wanted to take a U-turn from the past viz a viz LTTE, I don’t know what kind of riots would have ensued if Tamil community was not hindu, but that would be speculation. As for Rajiv being sitting PM, I stand corrected.

Coming to Pakistan, BB and many other moderates do have enemies in the shape of religious extremists mainly in the North, but a sizeable population didn’t like her because of her past record in power, however, they are not the ones who wanted her dead, they simply would not have voted for her. However, despite all this uncertainty Karachi stock market is still a top performer in the world. Yes we are paying a price for our role in Afghan war courtesy US, USSR and our own Zia-ul-Haque which will be eventually offset by the incredible resilience of our people. The poison injected will take time to suffice.

Dear friend unnecessary show of pity has its consequences, it can trigger pittiness syndrome, which is again not good for health.

Well you can come up with any worthless theories as to why there was no riots after RG’s assassination. Fact is, it did not happen.

“Yes we are paying a price for our role in Afghan war courtesy US, USSR and our own Zia-ul-Haque which will be eventually offset by the incredible resilience of our people. The poison injected will take time to suffice.”

The poison will be taken out only in kabristan.

Pittiness syndrome ??? I googled for it and could not find a single page describing it. Must be some islamic crap.

Is this what you meant by pittiness (sic) syndrome

“Pittiness Syndrome” So you googled it, no wonder you couldnt find it, because I coined the term for sick people like you, and since I coined it, it cannot be Islamic, as I am an athiest.

But atleast you tried …I cant help but admire your thirst to aquire worthless knowledge. hahahahaha …. :-)

“Indeed those who disbelieve from among the people of the Book and the idolaters, will be in the fire of Hell, abiding therein. They are the worst of creatures.” (Quran 98: 6)

Need I say more? Now go on and keep counting your wealth. I’ll see how it helps you six feet under, which you people are the most scared of.

I really value the Lahore metroblogging page, for us the naive westerners trying to make sense it’s a great resource for seemingly poignant and truthful opinions.. Here when we got news of the “Daughter of the East” being assassinated it was a stark shock.. Reading the many viewpoints of the PPP and BB herself I have to just stay with her as a symbol of hope for a direction of true itjihad (discussion?) of the direction of Pakistan and the globe in general. Internally and externally the children of Abraham are responsible for most of the wars and bloodshed here on our planet.. When will it end? Is it to late to teach our children the love of scriptures rather then the venum?

Mr. Indian you came here to bash us, instead you end up looking up pittiness syndrome, that shows inability to stay focussed and a tendency to be easily distracted, not good credentials for an aspiring hate monger, you need more practice man. Acquiring knowledge has served other Indians well but sadly that does not applies to you, however, there is always hope.

And what i said about stock market is not made up, Karachi came 7th in the world in 2007 with 40% yield and would have been in the top 3, but for the event of last week of december.

And please dont give that religous crap to me because it does not effect me a bit, I have enough material about all the religions of the world, biblical or non-biblical, but this is not a forum to discuss that. Also when you bracket so called islamic countries you seem to forget Turkey or Malaysia.

Stay focussed man, otherwise you’ll be left behind in the crap race.

Perhaps the Indians are right to laugh at us an scorn us. Their economy grows at an annual rate of 8% and their private secotr becomes the envy of superpowers while we wallow in our self pity and kill each other over the name of religion. Perhaps it is time we wake up and start recognizing our own weaknesses instead of pointing fingers at other.
